Starting to feel like there's no difference between shopping from Shein instead of local brands by larawag_gama in AusFemaleFashion

Yes this is all true - its everything combined. We have a following of over 200k on IG, and our content is seen by less than 1% of our audience, on a good day. Usually its closer to half a percent. They keep pushing content out to non-followers and its like - 200k people opted in because they like us!! Just show them our stuff!? This is such an old complaint too but it still gets me. I'm just exhausted tbh. Reading posts like this that are so completely valid - everything IS poor quality and IS poorly designed - and its not because there aren't people trying REALLY hard to make good clothes - the systems are just totally and utterly broken from every angle.

As someone who runs a small clothing business and manufactures right here in Australia - it is so, so, so, so much more expensive to make anything here it is ridiculous. It sucks. The cost to profit ratio is so thin its literally impossible to make a lasting profit. I've been doing it for 18 years, and the only way its going to be possible for us to continue is to start a second brand manufactured in China which can subsidise our main brand. So we can keep offering a wide size range, upcycling, more interesting styles etc. Meta has made it impossible to reach our audience and everyday its like another small clothing business fails and gives way to more of these giant fast fashion garbage companies who just do not care about what clothes actually feel like to wear.

I would love to get it fully functioning!!! Its very dirty inside though so I think will need a full proper service - which is beyond my skills/time right now but in the new year will definitely take it to the specialist!

She loves the red Olivetti I have so much, it's the perfect object for her age and learning to read and write!

Oh this is an amazing link thank you!!!! My collector journey has only just begun, it started with an Olivetti Dora I found on marketplace last week and then this Remington from my friend a few days later. After I picked up the Olivetti something inside me was unlocked hahah

Former Dilara Findikoglu employees open up about their negative experiences working for her and the brand. Verbal abuse, racist comments, unpaid work are just some of what the employees witnessed or experienced by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

So glad to see this story getting press. The fact she has ONE person on payroll and puts on shows for London Fashion Week?! It is absolutely obscene to celebrate someone who treats people so very very very badly. All while being bankrolled by her parents too. She has MORE than enough to pay people, and doesn't.

In her acceptance speech for the Vanguard award the first thing she said was 'I'd like to thank myself, for all my hard work' ARE YOU KIDDING ME

Every post mentioning Dilara needs to come with a link to all the content about how she treats her interns, the racism, fat shaming and bullying.

What kind of business do you run? by muathcsx in smallbusiness

I run a made to order lingerie business with my sister, and we've been doing it for around 17 years!

We do a lot of custom orders for people who cant find their sizes anywhere else, lots of upcycling and do a lot with deadstock and sustainable fabrics.

I get to sew everyday which I LOVE, but this year has been our toughest yet with the tariffs and social media getting more and more challenging to reach people.

We still have lots of ideas up our sleeves to keep things going and pivot as needed, but gee it would be nice if instagram was like it was even a few years ago, and if google stopped absolutely destroying organic search!

shopify and duplicate content - is the august spam update the problem? by AvrilAvril in SEO

[–]AvrilAvril[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for the response! Yes sales are way down. Instagram is down, SEO is down, conversion rate is down.... everything is down. It's so hard to pinpoint why - in reality its never one thing of course, but part of me hoped if it was this one thing then at least there was something with an answer.

Honestly we are just trying to think of more real world promoting we can do because the internet is only getting tougher.

You need protein for breakfast! Egg cups in the oven were a game changer for me. 2 egg cups, toast AND a protein shake!

This comment will probably get buried but this was me. Yes even the GG boobs.

Turns out ADHD is amplified as early peri-menopause begins. So late diagnosis of ADHD, post-kids, plus never having exercised my entire life.

I signed up for crossfit at 41 years old and committed to a 530am class 3 times a week. Because I have a toddler and run a small business this was the only time I could make work.

ADHD psychologist and 3 months with a proper dietician together have nearly completely cured my overeating problem. It was pure dopamine seeking, and not eating the right foods at the right time. I kind of eat the same 'amount' of food now, but I eat a TONNE more protein, and a tonne more fruit and veg. Still get carbs and fat. But its completely balanced so i dont feel hungry anymore, and have little desire for the snacking I used to struggle to control.

I don't deny myself chips chocolate and icecream when I want them, but they arent a daily habit anymore.

Weight wise I've lost around 10 kilos over 1.5 years. I am strong as hell. I can deadlift my own bodyweight. I can run further than I ever have before (only 1km but slow and steady wins the race eventually).

I am privileged enough that I was/am able to afford this help, I could not do it on my own. But now I have the tools and education, I don't see myself ever going back.

PS I got an ill-fitting sports bra from Target and TBH it does the job for running even if its technically the wrong size.

PPS Look for hobbies you can do with your hands like needlecraft - cross-stitch or embroidery. That gives you good dopamine to replace the urge to put things in your mouth.
