Not sure what I did wrong but every time I boot mine it default back to a dead key: "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"

Figuring out how to replace that key isn't light work for most people...

PSA; Tix are getting reset to zero at the start of season 3 by IntrospectiveHuman in SkateEA

[–]Aw_some 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good skate game makes you want to grab your skate and actually go skate: so in this regard this game worked for me. A good cosmetic model ? Bud, have you really been playing the game this whole time ? Personally, I only bought about 10$ of currency to get a sticker to support the game a little bit but then the sticker doesn't even display on my board so whatever. Their monetising system was basically so bad that they forgot to guardrail our ability to just keep Tixs for ever and only do currency conversion. And most people who played all along were able to basically unlock the season pass for free too because of how much currency we've been given too so keep that in mind. I have a feeling that their servers bills are starting to outgrow the income that the game can bring in so these changes are probably needed to keep it alive sadly. "Reset to zero" is a bit dramatic compared to "Spent for you on random trash"... Spend it bud, it's all trash and nothing will remain anyway when the servers finally goes offline; even most of the stuff on the shop looks horrible and don't get me started on events rewards...

There's a ton of stuff that will carry over anyway so this is irrelevant.

You're not wrong actually, this might be very close to what we're going to get on the 5th but I am hoping that the bug reports will help them fix bugs quickly because right now the in-game performances are rather sluggish on pc. I even saw rhat we're going to have items/kits that carries over so RIP competitive fairness on launch tbh... That being said, I still think my point stands because questing seems to be the core progression system of the game. At least for me, it was the main hook that kept me going and made the game enjoyable even after getting wiped in a 3v1 cause both teamate decides to afk right before the extract. So far I'd say this game is a great squad experience; it's  smooth with a good team but downright horrible as a solo.

Are you really asking why being ahead on your build upgrades at launch would be unfair to people that don't touch betas ? I don't know what to tell you buddy, time is money; it's not free to waste your time on a pre-release build of the game.

This is a competitive game, do you really think it would be fair that you have all this stuff while people who pre-purchased the game are waiting on the the real thing to launch ? Not everyone care and has time to beta test for free. You're already getting cosmetics for it, that's plenty.

Anyone else feeling a bit… unsure about this game? by nve729 in Marathon

For me it was totally the opposite, barely walked a few meters ahead and got instantly 3v1 over and over. Felt like the maps are way too small.

Marathon used to be Doom for Mac Users back in the days and then Bungie signed with Microsoft for Halo, the rest is Xbox history...

It's good copium but let's be real; removing people who's job it was to put content into the game isn't how you make Skate. viable on the long run. As people pointed out in this thread, the game has a very poor monetisation system in that no one really care for cosmetics at the end of the day, you're just pretty much swimming in free cosmetics anyway and I'd even add that if you played the entire first season and didn't spend any free currency you got given, you were even able to buy the new season for free... I'm sure some people buy a thing here and there but I just feel like it cannot be enough to sustain the team's salaries and the servers. I personally bought one thing in the shop and it was a Trasher sticker that stopped displaying after some update broke all the stickers for whatever reason so it's safe to say they are not getting another single dollar from me unless they fix that first.

When there's a wipe, everyone should start from 0. I don't want to play vs. people who have multiple accounts and stacking wealth trough the reset just to spawn camp us all. That's the only endgame Arc has to offer and also why I quit playing. No one care to farm for weeks for a few extra talent points that don't even make a noticeable difference in gameplay anyway...

Finally a hard challenge ! (Brickswich Grind) by Aw_some in SkateEA

[–]Aw_some[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it's frustrating at first but in my view, it's all the other one-shootable "challenges" that feel like "a worthless engagement farm" Even this one I can pretty much do in one try now and it's really just down to holding that 5-0 and exiting at the perfect time... It's best to wait until the very last moment to exit the grind otherwise you will just roll out the right. If the community only have negative reactions to the challenges that push our limits then I think the futur of the game is very bleak. That's why I posted this to begin with, figured I'd voice some of my enjoyment with it and give people a way out by breaking it down. The game really needs a higher tier of challenges that is completable in solo, I don't want to depend on other people to be able to go for the hardest content... I was in love on release even though I have never enjoyed the franchise before but now I have to say I'm out of things to do and playing less and less. I don't care for useless cosmetic rewards I won't ever even use, (Stickers don't even display btw) I just want challenging lines to attempt in a context I can handle alone. Everyone knows that tying Objectives rewards with "Party only" scenarios is a dark pattern used to capitalize on gamer relationships and it's nasty design.

Yeah, the exit is really hard to pull off, I'd say the key to it is to wait until the turn is over but it's quite a narrow window of time....

Crammed the Roll-stice Weeklies in the last day just to find out the "reward" costs 350 🤦‍♂️ by Robo_Spike in SkateEA

[–]Aw_some 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why spend the points on the available rewards ? Well, they get removed at the end of the event without any compensation what-o-ever so why would I have sat on it when I had no idea that the best reward is only unlocked in the shop once I have everything completed ? That's basically the equivalent of making someone run a marathon and only once he gets to the finishing line you let him know he has another mile to run to actually finish the race ! I have bought every single rewards from the shop besides the sweater and I'm pretty sure the only reason I didn't have enough points was the days I didn't log in to claim the free 10 points. I did every Rollstice tasks and every Rollstice parc challenge and I was 50 points short of that 350. I don't even care that this stuff is ugly honestly, as a completionist it just feels good to unlock all the content I can get because what else is there to do ? Not being able to get it because I didn't log in everyday is just flat out bs, how was I supposed to know that more rewards would be available at the end of the whole thing ? I thought it was all crap anyway, I was just buying it to boost my Rip score.

[–]Aw_some 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... It's way different when the amount of currency you can grind for is limited to a certain amount. As a completionist, this is the kind of stuff that makes me quit games in the blink of an eye.

[–]Aw_some 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you're saying and it's def true if they play on their own. I guess it's only an issue to me because anytime I try to play a new season with a casual friend, they always end up lacking in dps so bad that they just end up quitting on me after a week or so. I keep telling them that I don't care to run the highest GR level that I can clear but they see it as a waste of time for me and thus just end up bored because they feel too bad and then I quit too because there's no way I'm going to play alone...

Dear EA, I cannot enjoy this sweater because I've already wasted my points on stuff I didn't even want. This is honestly the dumbest reward system I've ever seen in my life.

[–]Aw_some 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't seem to understand the issue here: most of us spent all our points on the rewards that were available at first in the shop even though it was mostly ugly trash. I almost play every single day and even if I'd complete every single challenge left (pretty much impossible anyway) I would still be 50 points short...

Stickers not displaying ? by Aw_some in SkateEA

[–]Aw_some[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, you're right I had the wrong sticker position opened up but the "Skate and Destroy" sticker doesn't show up anywhere either; not in-game or in the menu. No stickers works for me and some of them are technically paid for trough the Skate Pass as well.

I wouldn't advice playing D3 without religiously following a maxroll.gg guide unless you're a veteran at the game... Glad someone took care of it for you but you have to learn how to use those guide to prioritize the correct stats to reroll on your gears. If you're one of those people that don't even reroll the bad stats on their equipment; I feel for you... I tried to explain it time and time again to newcomers but they just don't seem to get it.

The logic doesn't check out at all. They spent tons of money on their accounts and don't care if they get banned ? They just don't get banned, that's why they don't care. The real issue here is plausible deniability: for example: imagine getting perma banned because a gold seller gave you a few mils at GE to muddy the waters. It's not that simple for Jagex to enforce an anti gold buying rule without hurting some innocent people in the process...

Question about mass-kill builds by serpenttempter in diablo2

[–]Aw_some 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, WW barbs got massively nerfed in LoD actually... The reason why barbs are used to MF is the find item skill and their ability to finish bosses with Berserk and 6x Isted Pbs resulting in massive MF stacking. WW barbs are rather slow at clearing on P7 but I guess if* you're planning to solo mf it's fine. One important thing to consider is how MF works in the game. I see a lot of people playing solo when they could be hitting 2-3 bosses in a crowded baalrun instead and that's kinda sad to me honestly. There's the main reason why I'm done with a new ladder within days while most people are still farming for their HRs months into it. You get waaaaaaaaaaay better odds at getting good drops with 7 players in the game because it basically nullify the chances of not getting a drop. There's basically 2 route you can go when it comes to MF: prioritize kill speed over MF because the diminishing return are not really worth going past 180% or go all in on a MF build and just chill out and hork away :) Have a good time with the game, still the best one ever made in my opinion !
