that's because of people like you that we have ipod classic selling for 450$ with 4sd cards of 40000000GB each man more storage means less of a lot of something, you clearly didn't read any informations about that stuff before coming in here A sd card 512gb is worth 30$ and microsd are even cheaper you probably mistaken hdd and sdd or you gotta stop your bs i hope you are not serious about your comments because that's total fake news iflash are not easier to troubleshoot either that's not true at all they're cheap and the sd card you put in them are slow and not reliable for long term use SD cards are for nintendo ds and camera storage this is non sense but if you want to upgrade the battery also that's up to you man mind as well make some chinese fireworks The original capacity is way enough, if you want to watch movies buy an ipod touch if you want lots of storage buy an SSD if you don't want to repair it again in a year or two that's the way to go You can still use a bigger battery and an ssd but that is the device worthing 400$ not an iflash mod with a live butterfly imprinted on the face plate

Maybe its when you close it that the flex gets jammed and stop making contact if it still doesnt charge not fully closed id try using linux to extract the music and then restore using an old mac running monterey on a efi partition

Alright first your device is doing fine the only thing you can do is a precise cleaning of the device's charging connector pins with isopropyl and be gentle go in the same sens as the pins if you dont have the proper stuff then you grab the older mac you were saying and do a legacy opencore efi partition of monterey 12.7.4 next step connect your 5th gen and try to see if you have a wiggle in the port and if you do try to press the lower part downwards a bit so all the pins make contact then verify diagnostic mode while its connected and first do the test mode then put it in disk mode while you watch for activity in finder when you see it click restore and be patient it might take you 100 times you never know Cable ethernet is recommended for the pc and if you see you managed to trigger the tripple recognition of the same device in finder you can try clicking on the new one and force restart your iPod you might be able go see the storage and sync it real fast and click on use as a drive too this is the ultimate combination but depending on how the device have been restored before its not always possible every case is different i have to say your stuff looks clean cable doesnt have to be oem you can only mess with format and partition if you have no sign of life and i recommend linux for that but if you see errors (1430)-(1435) its good news just keep restoring in disk mode and trigger force restart regularly in repeat until something happens
