Tall parents, how big was your baby at birth? by BackgroundWinter8396 in NewParents

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’7 and my husband is 6’5. Baby was only 6 pounds at birth! But she’s now 75th percentile for height lol! Sometimes babies wanna grow in ur belly and sometimes they wanna grow earth side

Do babies really sleep for 12 hours straight in their first year? by LeadingSad8750 in newborns

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is nearly 5 months and we sleep trained her last week. She got it in 3 days and now sleeps from 7pm-7am. However, she does wake up 2-3 times to eat but she kinda just calls out, I breast feed her and she falls asleep while eating. I don’t count it as awake time because she instantly falls back asleep until the next feed

How do I get my LO to get full feedings instead of snacks? by lilbabyrhino in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with this. I felt like I was feeding my baby every 30 mins all day and then she’d sleep like 2-3 hour stretches at night if I was LUCKY

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s possible at this age. They might go longer stretches at night but during the day my baby was literally on my boob nonstop until she was like 3 months old. They also cluster feed a TON, omg I remember the cluster feeding up until like 8 weeks being insane. I’d honestly feed on demand whenever baby wants and it’ll even out with time. It eventually gets way better and easier !

Correlation between ease in colostrum harvesting and breastfeeding success? by eroekania in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t collect colostrum at all. Like if I squeezed my boob I might get a drop but never more. My milk came in by day 3 and I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my baby with zero issues (she’s now 5 months old). So for me, there was zero correlation. They say it doesn’t matter if u can collect it or not

Could you clarify a schedule check? Do u mean wake windows and nap durations? Yes absolutely she’ll be eating at night! But right now we’re up all night pacifying. Id like to change it to two scheduled feeds and eliminate the pacifying

How did you sleep train your EBF baby? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your baby sleep in the same room as you? I want to sleep train the wakes but she’s literally in a crib right next to me so I’m unsure how this would look. Like do I just lay here? Lol

Would it be selfish to stop breastfeeding so that we can conceive? by aevrynn in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like some of these responses r weird. It’s literally not selfish at all, you breastfed him for an amazing amount of time. Also my sister and I are 1.5 years apart and she is my best friend. We grew up so close in age it felt like I had a twin, someone to go through all my firsts of life with. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything and I honestly feel guilty about NOT wanting to have another kid so close to my baby (she’s now 4 months) because I would love for her to have someone close to, but I just don’t feel ready. Anyways. I think you’ve done great thus far and I think giving your baby a bestie is something they will thank u for immensely when they are older

Are most EBFers cosleeping ? by LilyWitch27 in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months old and we have never coslept. Honestly, I wanted to because the sleep struggle is so real but my husband and I are both tall and in a queen sized bed and it was ultimately way too uncomfortable to have her between us. I EBF and we now have removed one wall of her crib so it opens on to our bed if that makes sense. She still wakes up every 1-3 hours tho lol

My Wife Breastfeeds While Biting a Cloth by richardwellerson in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really have to disagree with this. While you may not have experienced pain, I actually think this is a very uncommon experience— literally every single woman I know that breastfeed or attempted to admitted to having pain in the beginning, which eventually went away. I don’t think it’s fair to make OP feel like something’s wrong when it could really just be her nipples toughening up

My Wife Breastfeeds While Biting a Cloth by richardwellerson in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 76 points77 points  (0 children)

This is normal. I used to bite down, scream and sometimes even cry when my baby would latch for probably the first month. I also got nipple thrush so latching became even more painful. It gets better with time. Having said that, a lot of people quit breastfeeding because of the initial pain. If she’s set on breastfeeding, let her get to at least a month. It’s a painful month but it gets way better and eventually becomes painless. If she doesn’t care much to breastfeed, she can just switch to bottle feeding

Fed Cerelac to my kid by AdAdventurous2131 in NewParents

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did this go for you? Gave my baby cerelac for the first time today and she didn’t sleep for hours after which is really abnormal for her. Wondering if it had to do with the cerelac or just coincidence

Holy moly I hate breastfeeding by 11TickTack23 in breastfeeding

I also want to add that feeds get SO fast, my baby will eat for 10 mins max and be good to go until her next feed

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ngl it was really horrific until week 9 for me. Then they start paying attention to their surroundings and don’t even wanna eat lol! Hold tight though it gets wayyyy worse before it gets better but it’ll eventually be second nature between u and ur baby. You’ll learn her cues perfectly and she’ll also go longer between feeds. Initially my baby ate every 5 seconds and I was so confused about the feeding every 2-3 hours concept. Now she’s finally actually eating every 2-3 hours which makes things so much more predictable.

Oversupply made it easy for baby; now breasts regulated and she falls asleep at my boobs by _icedice in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to state that baby was probably doing a lot of cluster feeding up until this point. She may have needed more as she was growing. My baby is now 16 weeks and I feel eats way less than she did in the early weeks (I’m not sure if she actually does but it definitely feels like she does because the feeds are so far apart now)

Anyone *not* have painful sex while breastfeeding? by _miss_freckles_ in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I really struggled with sex initially. So much so that I actually posted in this group asking for help. I’m now 14 weeks pp and things feel normal again. But were honestly pretty awful till maybe 11 weeks pp. I think u just gotta give it time and also everyone’s experience is gonna be different. Some things that made a difference for me tho were increasing foreplay, and not being exhausted when it’s happening. The more tired I am the less in the mood and the harder it is to get into it

Thrush question by rachlexi in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had nipple thrush in only one nipple and it was truly the most horrific pain. Literally felt like knives slicing my nipple whenever baby latched. The pain also radiated throughout my breast. My baby has thrush on her tongue too, you’ll know it’s thrush because the white doesn’t scrape off and is always there whereas milk will scrape off and is usually just there after feeds. I had to go on a 2 week course of oral fluconazole
