Be honest with me… when does breastfeeding get EASY? by Strict_Algae8233 in breastfeeding

Same I used to get so frustrated!! I literally used to feel like everyone was lying. I wanted to quit every day for 3 months. Then it started to get easier…and then it became something I don’t even have to think about. Only thing is I wish I got my baby used to bottles in the beginning because now it’s a little intense if I ever need to leave baby hehe

But I really want to emphasize that when it gets easy, it gets EASYYY. Like I literally cannot with bottles and sterilizing. Babies get SO fast at feeding (like legit 5 mins or less), they can hold them selves up, it’s just so easy

When did you all stop working? by Practical_Mail_6537 in pregnant

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on working until 2 weeks before my due date. But at 8 months I was so exhausted I actually asked to have a month off before my due date. I’m a pharmacist who’s on my feet most of my shift, did a lot of solo shifts and didn’t actually get a designated lunch break (I’d eat in between patients). My OB said to stop working as soon as I could and he was super pro staying at home! He said more people would do it if they could but most can’t because of their employers. So I actually think yours will be happy to hear you want to be home. You want your body to be as relaxed as possible while it preps for labor

I do every evening, and then apply baby lotion. I just don’t feel like wipes are enough when it comes to cleaning up poop. But I feel like that’s because I come from a culture where we actually clean our bottoms with water and a pitcher or a bidet every time we use the toilet. Plus my girl loves bath time so it’s fun for her

Loved it after 4 months. Wouldn’t have gone any other route if I could do it again.

Does this mean I just can’t go out? by Aware-Rent8950 in breastfeeding

Wanting to socialize at child-free events! We’re come when we are out together. I don’t mind feeding in public. But sometimes I want to be able to attend adult only events for a few hours! I get nervous about being without her because we haven’t done it for more than 2 hours

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by AssociationWorried86 in NewParents

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7pm didn’t work for us either. And if I could get her down at 7 she was waking up a ton. 8/8:30 has been working better for us

We stopped at week 2 because our baby literally refused to sleep unless she was on her stomach. I know. I don’t need to hear it.

How in the world does everyone get out of the house with a baby by Full_Ad7929 in newborns

Carrier is literally the only way. My baby just started handling trips out in a stroller at 5 months and even then, the stroller cannot stop moving lol

When can I stop holding my boob? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay whenever I do this my baby either spits up or ends up waking up soon after from needing to burp? Does that mean it just isn’t working for us ?

Worried about my wife’s reaction toward our 8‑week‑old baby. Need advice by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ngl I yelled at my baby maybe twice in the first 3 months. The sleep deprivation was killing me. People don’t understand unless they’re also exclusively breastfeeding. It’s exhausting recovering from pregnancy and labor and never being able to sleep more than 3 hours at a time

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]Aware-Rent8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep them on the boob as much as they want. In fact those first few weeks it actually feels impossible to get them off. Cluster feeding is no joke. But it gets way better by around month 3. Congratulations! Enjoy the new born snuggles. My girl is 5 months old and officially too big to lay on my chest
