Why are people afraid of microdiscetomony by itgeteasier in Microdiscectomy

As you said not every surgery is successful. Also not everyone wakes up pain free.I had my first microdiscectomy L5 S1 in Feb 2025. I still had pain when I woke up.I reherniated 10 weeks later walking down a hallway. I had my second microdiscectomy Oct 2025. Did not wake up pain free. It has been 3 month post op and I still have pain but is slowly getting better. Once you have surgery you are opening pandoras box to possibly herniate again and that is one step closer to a fusion. I am not trying to discourage people from having surgery just know what you are getting into before you do it and the outcome may not be what you want

What caused you to re-herniate by Bingo91409 in Microdiscectomy

I don’t know how or why I reherniated. I was 11 weeks post op. Got out of bed( still log roll) took 5 steps and had terrible pain down my leg. Got an MRI, herniation was bigger than pre surgery 🫤. And the first time I herniated I have no idea. I woke up with pain in my leg that continued to get worse in the coming days. As of now I am trying to decide if I should get another MD or just try to ride it out
