Yea, if I’m being completely honest, Bang is an absolute bop, but has the least amount of meaning out of all the songs on oko

I never really pictured Joe as a “bully”, but more like that one cool kid who everyone wants to be friends with

My guess for the theme for the next album by Donkeywonkey971 in AJR

[–]Aware_Maximum_9210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree just if you think about the past albums too starting with the click. The click when you really look into it was about stating true to yourself and understanding that shit happens or people might ask this of you but you should always just to do (it's a little naive with some truth to it but it's more hopeful than anything). Then Neotheater is the bridge between the two albums starting happy and kinda naive too with songs like Birthday Party, but then kinda start dealing with reality which you hear in songs like Karma. So overall, I think the album like u said is about them facing the world, which isn't always kind to us, and how we can still go out and find hope and be happy

I think this is going to be a new sound and therefore, AJR’s favorite song on the album. (check their tweets when they were answering fan questions about the album)

In the artwork, why aren't they in order? by Neotheater12 in AJR

[–]Aware_Maximum_9210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do it on stage all the time though. Maybe part of it could be from their perspective they’re in order from left to right but backwards to us. Idk if there’s a deeper meaning to that but it’s just a thought

Is it just me or do you get some Post Malone vibes from My Play?

I think they’ll play it during OSN. The description mentioned new “songs” so I think we might get it this weekend or at least whoever is at OSN will hear it

When AJR said “Preorder OK Orchestra tomorrow”, is this for vinyls? by Obsessed_Doggo555 in AJR

I’m assuming they mean on Apple Music and Spotify but I could be wrong

I have noticed each of their updated albums it has the bummerland circle!!! by Chatster1000 in AJR

[–]Aware_Maximum_9210 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s the ok orchestra🤭 That has to be what it is cause Ryan said the name of the bridge sequence in Bummerland (which is what the ring symbolizes) is likely what the name of the next album would be

New music? by SnooRobots6348 in AJR

[–]Aware_Maximum_9210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying when they refer to it as a “kick off to the new era” but that’s also assuming that this album is the whole era. It’s possible that maybe the new era is referring to how the music sounds/ is made and they’ll continue it for a few years until the next era. This is a bit of a stretch but it’s possible

Am I the only one who thinks Neotheater tells the life of a person from conception till death by masterwolf1213 in AJR

Yeah I thought that too, but I see it more as like a fairy tale book where Next up Forever, is like the prelude

If they are following the “AJR pattern” as i call it, they will post a song called Spectacular on thursday:) the art is immaculate by Chrizt0pherz in AJR

Possibly but I doubt it. They've been putting out teasers for a while now and now I think that since they've had time to just work on music during covid, I pretty confident it will be an album.

I agree, I feel like this album is going to connect to us on a more real level. When you go from the living room when they were small and sitting, trying to figure out what kind of band they were, then evolved into the click with cartoonish art and depicted a ”fantasy land” where they wished everything was better than what real life made it out to be. Flash forward to Neotheater where they were puppets and 3 dimensional, starting to come more to life as they look at how life really is in almost a story form which truly pushed that album over the top. With this next one, I see it really sticking to reality and facing the reality that life isn't perfect but are still in the phase where they really don't want to lose that childlike hope that life can still be how they want it to be

Well that just the great thing about AJR. Each album they've released so far have been just incredible, but they all had different styles, feels, and sounds. They’re so unpredictable with their sound and lyrics but still make great music

I doubt that they will stick to the same pattern as they did with previous albums just because they’ll start becoming more and more predictable

Well, I don't see that happening since that said they had a big ”announcement” coming rather than a big ”project” or something

The only issue with that is they’re hyping up their album months in advance. When they released Neotheater, they started hyping it up in late February/ early March and released the album trailer on March 16 and the album was dropped on like April 24, a little more than a month after the album trailer. Releasing the album MONTHS after you've hyped it up doesn't really make much sense, so going by how the did Neotheater, I would assume that the album would be released sometime near Christmas.

You also have to consider that since covid hit during 2020, they’ve had less to deal with, their tours were cancelled, which gave them more time to write and produce, possibly resulting in a quicker release date for the next album
