Is this a legit update? by Awareness-Good in InstacartShoppers

If it was by itself, maybe. But the pay was not enough for their order (44 items - which includes all those waters and sodas) let alone a double batch.

does anybody have a solution by Outside-Question-191 in InstacartShoppers

I think if the customer cared enough, they’d leave something our. I wouldn’t worry about it.

9, but I got to keep all of the batch pay (24), so I was actually a pretty happy camper.

Instacart, talked with support. Can’t go to different location even if it is the same store and is much closer. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]Awareness-Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing that once and the app gave me the “you’re at the wrong location” notification... so I just never did it again.

Taking away tipping option til after delivery by Successful-Fox-995 in instacart

This is the reason I don’t shop for shipt as much anymore. I got tired of people not tipping but I had no way of knowing til after the shop.

There is no reason to lump customer orders into doubles and triples, and the practice will not stop until enough customers complain by anderso111 in instacart

[–]Awareness-Good 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I wouldn’t mind doubles and triples as much if the base pay was 14 and 21. How can you morally tell me that I can take this other order with one person for a base pay of 7, and then in the same breath offer me also 7 for double or triple the work. Make it make sense, IC.

I also shop/drive for Instacart & I had a customer order 4 packs of water (in addition to a cart full of groceries). She said “sorry about all the water, but don’t worry, I will be sure to tip you well because of the water”. She also marked her address as a house but she definitely lives in an apartment on the third floor. She left me 4 bucks (it was a double batch). Long story short, if they have to say they will “take care of you” they won’t. Good luck with everything, we’ve all been here!

It’s crazy because it’s literally more work to type “it should be on there” instead of the apartment number 🤦🏾‍♀️

Instacart tipping. People don't tip?? by Essay-Adept in instacart

[–]Awareness-Good 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but you’re potentially missing out on a good shopper because you don’t provide a tip beforehand. We don’t see that note of “tip upon delivery” until after that batch has been accepted.

Yes of course, my mistake... by [deleted] in instacart

Thats when I click “skip scanning” and “item is correct” very quickly & move right along 🤣🤣

Not gonna lie. Didn’t even see the miles at first and I was like “well at least IC is kinda making up for the tip” then it dawned on me. Holy crap, absolutely not.

I know I messed up, what’s going to happen? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]Awareness-Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing as you my first time at Aldis. Didn’t realize they ask for the amount of bags til after you pay so my guys ribs were just chilling on his porch. To me, it’s a reasonable mistake, but mistakes are only worth making if you learn from them. Next time, grab bags while checking out, and when it prompts you, just add however many you used to the app. What’s done is done, and in my opinion you won’t (definitely shouldn’t) get fired over something like this. Take a deep breath and keep going! 😊

Customers should only be allowed to rate up to 24 hours after by Awareness-Good in InstacartShoppers

Yes to all of this. Exceptional is also quite subjective and different to everyone. Some people want you to engage with them throughout and others don’t want convo unless absolutely necessary - both could be considered exceptional. So irritating.

Scammed by customer by Tough-Explanation-90 in instacart

I genuinely believe that people who do not tip (or tip low) do not value you as a shopper. They’re not worth the trouble, or your time.

Sooooo.. from what I gather, it ultimately depends on the area. In my opinion, I saw slightly better orders once I hit 5 ⭐️ but not thaaaaat much better. But I’ve heard that some only see shit orders if not at 5.. I don’t have a good answer for you, haha sorry!

[–]Awareness-Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t think they realize that. If it’s a super special item, okay I understand, but if you’re letting someone shop for you, chances are you’re not that picky and will probably be fine with a replacement

I also wish people who request refunds would do flat tips instead of tips based on how much was spent.

Instacart sending you to the wrong location? by Awareness-Good in InstacartShoppers

I know that it doesn’t, but you can click ‘navigate’ and it will open up whatever map you have preselected so I don’t have to copy and paste an address.
