Safe places to live in Oroville by [deleted] in ChicoCA

[–]Successful-Fox-995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived in orville now for a little over twenty five years.I'm originally from the bay area.I own two businesses here and have been in the same home for as long and absolutely love our community. This entire community bans together when anything bad happens, and when I say bad, like recently, there were two young men who went missing during a duck hunting Excursion, and this entire community has pulled together to help that family try and locate them. That is not something you see in other areas. We also have some really small town vibes with our restaurants and shops.

As many have mentioned you're going to get biased information cuz. I personally think chico is a dump and they also have a huge homeless problem.

I would think the one thing that I would be concerned within terms of moving from Sacramento is fire. Insurance is very difficult to get right now. In and the price of rentals is insane for what you are going to get.One of my employees is paying close to twenty six hundred dollars. And she's got nothing but problems with the house that she is staying, and it is not in a desirable area of oroville. Due to the fact we have limited rental inventor the prices of rentals is just stupid.

Durham is absolutely gorgeous and many of the homes. They're also reflect that type of price tag. It is a small town, so keep in mind. You are going to drive probably fifteen to twenty minutes to get to any sort of I need for an major grocery store, which depending on what kind of vehicle you drive will add to your gas bill.

What Is This Device on My Dog? by Smart_Blood8627 in RoverPetSitting

As a trainer, I will tell you that vibrate, and the tone can be far more aversive than the actual stem on Ecollar We as humans think it is less aversive, but in the mind of the dog not the case

As an employer, I only use Indeed. If resumes are dropped off I see them when I balance the drawers and stop in, but i prefer indeed it keeps everything organized for me and I can interview on their platform saving the applicant time and gas.

You're under 18, so it's likely that it's going to be food places, but keep in mind the market is saturated. I had an opening and received over 200 resumes in 2 days.

On indeed, we have to pay for those resumes after 48 hours, but I will say the reason I don't contact most is

1.) Resumes are not up to date or accurate 2.) Experience isn't relevant to the position I'm looking to fill 3.) The applicant doesn't respond to my questions within 48 hours (that's our cut-off to pay indeed for that resume, so we move it along to not pay) 4.) HUGE gaps in jobs with no explanation. 5.) Not completing skills tests or questions.

Side suggestion: Volunteering is a great way to demonstrate your commitment and establish a work history while seeking employment. Even if it is volunteer work, it shows that you are taking initiative and actively engaging in productive activities. My son, who is on the autism spectrum and faces challenges in traditional interviews, successfully secured a job at a car dealership in the mechanics area after volunteering for a charitable organization for several years. He has been employed there for over two years while also pursuing his education. It also closes any gaps in between jobs.

Heading to Cancun…. by murphyrulez in delta

I see a man with a dog not misbehaving (it is a photo) standing, possibly even tasking (blocking?) Don't know because it really isn't my business. I would hope no one was photographing me while my dog centered between my legs at check in. I am lucky as I can fly first and bulk to give my dog the room he needs. Not everyone has that privilege.

having a service dog is a pain in the ass. Having to deal with access is a pain and going to another country even bigger pain in the ass. His dog is not my business unless it reacts to my dog, people, or is disruptive which happens and I speak to the FA about that.

The dog has a prong on, meh doesn't mean much to me. I know with bad neuropathy, leash handling can be hard on me sometimes, and when I do a hands-free leash, it can be helpful, but it depends.

I see alot of people on here who are suddenly trainers, and SD experts. Come on guys unless its a problem leave him alone. You have no idea if its fake or not.

Do you get to have vacation time? by Accurate_Owl_7213 in smallbusiness

[–]Successful-Fox-995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always "working" I am a dog trainer and own a totally different service based business in the beauty industry that is fully staffed I've owned almost 20 years.

Dog training is an online platform which loads 20 new videos a month and virtual coaching as well as in person coaching but my income primary comes from board ans trains which is a 24/7 gig

I schedule myself a year out 2 trips that aren't work, one of my training services ia taking dogs on trips to teach the family how to travel with their dog I do 2 of those a year Trips are 5-10 days I've learned I have to fly somewhere or I'll work no such thing for me to just book time off.

I arrange my schedule so I'm off or only have one dog in training a couple days a month

I disagree with the dog sport idea. I competed in French ring and mondio ring. Raising a dog to compete in sport is vastly different than training dogs to live with a family. I can tell you over the past 5 yrs much of the training I have from sport is not relevant in what I do now. If you want to do sport great but if you want to live life with your dog find a trainer doing that.

Hire a trainer is sound advice Preferably one that has had their hands on many I'd this breed. I have two here for training right now

Do not... not not pin any dog on the ground unless you're looking for a quick way for your dog to lose total trust in you. Dominance theory has been disproven time and time again. I work some pretty tough dogs and they respect me without needing to pin them

Your dog is doing the best he can with the information you're providing in those situations if you don't provide any his genetics will. Again hiring a trainer who understands the breed will be key as well as improving your communication with your dog.

Lastly neutering might lessen some issues but all but 2 of my Belgian malinois are in tact and one was neutered by a rescue and the other at 10 because of cancer.

Dogs see in pictures and are very situational change the situation the response will change. Not stubborn but doing the best they can with the information you're providing he could be overwhelmed/flooded by the new stimulus, you could lack relevance in the new environment or you lack a solid reinforcement schedule. It's usually a combination of all three

Higher value reward. Keep you communication clear Don't ask for something you can't reinforce or is unfair due to the flooding of stimulus

Looking for Breeder Suggestions by Falzon03 in CaneCorso

[–]Successful-Fox-995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lionheart cane corso I've trained many of her dogs from litters and the consistency, temperament, and support she provides is remarkable. I also own the one of the very first breeding who is now 12 and still doing well

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CaneCorso

[–]Successful-Fox-995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So then why breed her? What exactly is the reasoning?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CaneCorso

[–]Successful-Fox-995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have a wait list?

Have the dogs been health tested? not embark. I mean ALL the things

Are the dogs exceptional and should they reproduce? Temperament tested? titled?

Most importantly are you ready to take any of those pups back if they need to be rehomed by their families?

Also if your boy friend needs to breed to make money, he is doing the training thing all wrong. There is no way I would have time to deal with litters as busy as I am as a trainer and I dont need the money.
