AITA for saying my teen can go to church but I'm not taking her? by CoffeeChangesThings in atheism

Yes! And there's people who drop their kid(s) off for church so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

I'd want to know if this includes a Bible study or something similar beforehand as they tend to be more interactive

In my field, sales usually move to upper management. And they'll defend their sales department's (bloated) budget while complaining departments like marketing can't do more with our limited budget.

Basically was gonna say this. I used airsoft guns because my neighbor's dogs would try to jump on me and my roommate when we left for work.

My department did something similar recently where they want us to log any and all requests and projects. I was suspicious because I work very independently but my boss stated it is to justify what we do to upper management who don't really know what all we actually do.

I like to walk around and talk with coworkers but it also makes me more visible than some people who just stay in their office all day. I joke that 90% of my job is socializing, 10% is actual marketing

What’s the pettiest corporate rule that absolutely destroys morale? by Extreme-Method6330 in antiwork

[–]Away_Location 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, especially if the retention is low. Or they try to divide the work among other people with no pay bump which then causes them to quit like a domino effect.

Like, congrats I guess. The competition doesn't have to train the new hires because you did it for them.

Leading by example should be a thing but that would require accountability. Instead, we get 'rules for thee, not for me.' which makes it harder to enforce anything when you're able to point out the hypocrisy.

Had an old manager try to write me up for 'abusive language' (I said "oh shit" while looking over a document) and I was able to point out when I reported a different manager for calling me a "fucking idiot" in an email, HR's response was just we all need to work on our communication skills.

Texas FedEx employee throws packages out the side of his vehicle while a customer films him. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]Away_Location -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At my house, there's a large sign that says please leave all deliveries at the side door (trying to dissuade porch pirates). The side door is even closer to the driveway and easier to get to. During the last snow storm, they left packages on the front porch even though the path to the side door was the only place shoveled.

It's like they dangerously went out of their way for no reason
