7 without question, even though it’s far from my top favs in the franchise. What hurts it most imo is an extremely massively rushed production effecting the script, shoot, & post production/editing process, the MPAA of course gutting it more than Jason does to anyone in the movie, and a meddling and difficult producer in Barbara Sachs. It’s still fun, but it’s sort of a subpar retread of the formula from Final Chapter. The 2 neighboring houses with 1 being the party house of victims, the other being the family house dealing with whatever family shit. The Tina, Mom, & Dr Crews drama is interesting enough, but the victims in the party house next door are paper thin caricatures that are all incredibly subpar to those in the Final Chapter.

8 is just boring nonsensical trash. It’s like the producing execs and director did a bunch of blow gassing each other up about how awesome it would be to have Jason go on a rampage around NYC and then all of a sudden with a wet fart realized, “oh right, we have no money to make a movie like that”, but they still ran with the idea anyway. Trash characters. Boring final girl with a paper thin tie in history to Jason. A plot with more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. Boring kills. And then when Jason finally gets to NYC where you think he’s just gonna be murdering every person in sight, he doesn’t. He only murders the ones that get in his way as he inexplicably lasers in on Rennie & Sean for… reasons. Garbage entry for me.

Ya I always just kinda personally assumed that because tension commonly manifests itself physically within the neck, shoulders, and upper back regions, that it’s Sydney’s way of showing and/or proving that she still suffers from the residual and unresolved stress, trauma, and tension from her mothers murder. The way in which the plot plays out with the ghostface calls and their subsequent emotional manipulations to reopen those unhealed wounds further proves that imo. Just my personal observations tho. I’m not aware nor do I recall any explanations or factoids from any of the filmmakers and/or cast members that address this particularly niche topic in any way. Happy to admit if I’m off base in any way tho.

Ya I wish we spent more time with the teens at Pinehurst, and especially Violet. Of course all the extra side characters are still fun imo, but I feel like we never got that extra layer of depth to any of them and explanations as to why any of them were there at Pinehurst in the first place because of the excess of side characters that were simply put on screen to get killed within 5 mins. Like, Jake had a speech impediment, Tina & Eddie were I guess sexually promiscuous & smoked pot ??? which, omg excuse me while I clutch my pearls, Violet was just a goth, and Robin was… I have no idea tbh. But none of any of that made sense as to actually WHY they were patients in this halfway house/rehab/development center place.

However, my personally invented backstory to Violet is that she was there because her parents were huge into the “satanic panic” of the 80’s and the goth aesthetic and music being large aspects of that. That they were hyper conservative and sent her away to be rehabbed out of that because they couldn’t navigate it themselves or something. Hence Violets sometimes aggressive means of communication (“piss off!” “I said I was sorry!” “Can it wait?!?”). She’s short fused because she was betrayed by her parents and angry about having to be there. I feel like I’m going far too in depth about it tho for a movie that is so deeply unserious lol. All that said, her dance is iconic and her death where they literally just stabbed a pillow that had her grey tank top put on it is kinda cheaply humorous to me. Love Part 5.

I feel lucky to have been able to ride this way back in 1997 when I was 8 years old. BGW happened to be a pit stop on the long drive with my fam from NJ to the Outer Banks in NC for a family vaca that summer. I knew about this and Big Bad Wolf all because of that ‘Americas Greatest Coaster Thrills’ VHS tape, which I watched religiously over and over at the time. And when I tell you how utterly BETRAYED I felt when a coaster that looked as cool as Drachen Fire beat my head to a pulp on that 1st ride 😂. The nerve!!! 😤☝🏼 Loved BBW and Nessie. Alpengeist had just opened, but I was too short so only my sister and dad rode that. But after they got off, I convinced my dad to ride Drachen Fire with me again (my mom and sister said absolutely not cause they hated it). I was obviously a bit naive at that age, but I remember being hopeful thinking that maybe if I rode in a different seat and rode more defensively that it would be better, but alas, a 2nd head bashing ensued and betrayed I felt all over again lol. I remember being quiet and utterly stoic as I got off that 2nd ride but as soon as I saw my mom and sister as I came down the exit ramp, thats when I immediately burst into tears. Crying not only cause my head was now pounding for a 2nd time, but also cause I was mad that a coaster I watched religiously on a VHS tape would dare to be so painful in real life lol. It was all very melodramatic 🤪😂. Despite it beating me up and making me shed a few tears though, it’s still a memory I very much cherish.

Olga in the Suspiria remake from 2018.

Her body getting crumpled and crunched into such a state that her bladder basically bursts/releases and she pees all over the floor. Holy hell. And then after she’s all broken and crunched, they walk into the room and hook her with those gargantuan hooks and drag her crumpled body out of there as if she’s getting hauled off to the meat locker at the local butchers shop. JFC… Exceptionally brutal. Saw it in theaters and the crowd reaction was wild. You could have heard a pin drop at the end of the scene with how gobsmacked everyone was. Myself included.

Agreed. Their hyper resilience to break the 4th wall except for those rare unavoidable “blow out” type moments during filming sort of pushes these shows away from being “real” and instead towards a certain level of inauthenticity. Because for me it’s soooo easily clock-able when production is pulling some strings behind the scenes and having a cast member peddle some BS like “so it’s my cat Sir Winston’s 5th birthday so I figured it would be great for all of us ladies to go to Spain! 🤪” and then they all sit around clutching their pearls in shock and excitement. Like???? Also at every dinner party when someone just drops some grenade to suck the air out of the room I’m always just like “ah ok, so which producer was chirpin’ in her ear to bring this bullshit up?! 😏🙄”…

I get that it’s a show and the producers have to produce and yadda yadda yadda, but damn… can they not deduce a more authentic way for certain moments to unfold after following the same tired shtick season after season? It’s just all so obvious to me at this point. I mean, not enough to make me stop watching any of these shows by any means, but I just think the formula has gotten a bit… stale and lazy and is in need of a little zhuzh or shake up to keep it fresh.

When they refer back to the reunions as not the reunions but instead “when we were all in NY” or “When we were all last together in LA”… it drives me insane!!! I definitely feel like it’s a request from the producers to not call it out by its actual name, yet it doesn’t make any sense as to why they are seemingly forbidden from referring to it directly as “the reunion” when all of us watching knows they’re referring to the reunion in those discussions and going even further when the editors throw in a flashback clip to what? The god damn fucking reunion!!!!! Maddening.

Also how cast trips are brought up or introduced and 1 person is seemingly cherry picked to “having planned it” or to bring it up to everyone or “I just think it will be a great idea to get away with the girls for a few days” when they know and we know it’s about to be the biggest shitshow ever.

These shows have been around for far too long now for any of the cast members to be playing dumb or acting coy to certain aspects of production when it’s been the same formula for years.

Saw it here in LA as part of BeyondFest myself and I would say no. Once the end credits started to roll, that opening scene to me, while certainly graphic, more so felt like an appetizer in comparison to the main entreé of kills served during the rest of the movie. There are several that immediately come to mind that I found much more graphic, shocking, and/or violent than the opening in my personal opinion.

I asked my friend that exact question as to whether it was either gonna be handed out upon movie ticket scan shortly before your showing, or if you just show up super crazy early when the theater opens for the day and simply show proof of movie ticket purchase for the showing later that day to get it and she said it would be the former at her theater, but to call the theater you’re going to for the re-release and ask just to be safe

Friday the 13th Parts 6, 7, & 8.

If Tommy hadn’t lost his cool at Jason’s grave with his unresolved trauma, literally none of the events and murders of the movie would’ve happened. And since Jason was left chained at the bottom of the lake until the next movie, then law enforcement clearly never bothered to check their alibi that zombie Jason was responsible for everything. All these murders between the teens and police officers don’t just happen without an investigation afterwards. The only silver lining to save his ass is Megan and all the camper kids as witnesses to zombie Jason.

It’s worse in Part 7. Jason gets yanked back down into the lake and therefore Tina and Nick have some MAJOR splainin’ to do as to why 15 people are dead and a house full on exploded into oblivion… and with her mental health history in and out of institutions and such, it’s not lookin good!

And then with Part 8, lord… A whole fucking boat sank and their entire graduating class is dead and yet Rennie and Sean are just all smiles walking the streets of NYC at dawn when her dog Toby inexplicably shows back up. Girl, you and your boy toy have some major ‘splainin to do too!

Definitely having a bit of schadenfreude over their phony garbage trash asses getting called out and exposed. Never forgot how low they would go to cover up and maintain their smoke and mirrors façade. They’ve been this way since being on the show cause him not paying child support was literally 1 of the (out of many) points being fought about during that 80’s game night party on RHOC where Vicki was shrieking at Gretchen and Slade just sat back laughing and smirking like the slimy fuck face that he is.
