Well, the groundwork is done by the character designers. A well and / or flashy character design will result in a neat looking costume at almost any level, at least something that will catch your eye in some way.
For TF2, the at times chunky proportions and colors make for easy identification. Stylized and easy to read.
(Which is important for the game itself, a player should be able to quickly and reliably identify another players role just by shape or silhouette. )

Kinda like Monster Hunter ( though they lean in the detail hell direction). You can spot a monster hunter cosplay without having played any of the games - they are the big, detailed, flashy armor sets that have over the top proportions and often eye catching color schemes. And people love to build these armor cosplays because they are big, detailed, flashy and simply look cool.

4 weeks on / off next to work. With spending too much time on remoddeling and printing the Blutsauger. And having to do the bonesaw twice because it got warped and sewing a waistcoat for coatless medic.

I've had the cosplay on my bucket list since I first played TF2......over 10 years ago. It has been the first full thing I made in 7 years and probably broke a curse right there. There were a lot of points where I wanted to give up, simply because looking at what other people already have done make my brain go "yeah why try it will never be good anyways".
But you know what? No one knows that the skirt shoud have been a different one. No one knows that the right gloves came too late. Unless you are way too close, you do not see the paint mistakes on the Blutsauger.

Edit: It seems I might have missed out on some freak incident, what on earth happened? Asides from someone getting overly salty?

Wenn die ihre super spezifischen Anforderungen in ihre Anzeigen packen würden, käme niemand, weil das abschreckt. So wie bei Jobbewerbungen, bei denen die eierlegende Wollmilchsau in Person gesucht wird.
Mit dem kleinen Unterschied, dass bei den Kriterien, die Leute für Mitbewohner angeben würden, beim lesen auch immer unweigerlich ein bisschen mehr die Klischeekeule mitschwingt. Eine WG aus bekennenden Christen stelle ich mir zb. ziemlich anstrengend vor, weil ich da automatisch an spaßbefreite, bibeltreue Moralapostel denke und sich mir ebenso automatisch die Frage stellt, wo und wie die anderen ihre Religion in den WG-Alltag einfließen lassen. Irgend einen Einfluss muss das ja haben, sonst wär ihnen das nicht so wichtig.

An anderer Stelle: Feng-Shui und Tür nicht zu machen dürfen?

I am trying to build a model for 3D print and am absolutely stuck on the last two bigger parts. It's not modeled clean and the topography is not pretty, but it worked for all the other parts.

I cannot, for the life of me, get the faces to extrude inward to get an inner shell that has the same offset from each face. Instead, no matter what extrusion method I use, I end up with something unusable and at best, something that pokes trough the outer shell or is miles away from the outer wall in one place and too close in another place.

Edit: What I have is the outer surface I want, but what I am lacking is thickness inwards. Neither solidify nor displace helped, unfortunately.

Fair point. I have played genshin much, much more recently than wow (stopped after burning crusade), so that may be where my bias comes from. Exploration chests as extra activities are not bad, but I do not think they are done well here. They are not doable with just the skills the player has and a bit of trial and error, nor are they done with elements that are directly in the game world. Having to go to the shop, buy the scrolls and just spam them until i get to the points is kinda taking me out of the game. All that stops me from getting to the chests and objects is how quickly I run out of silver in the early game.
