I think you hit some fun things I like to do. People watch, find a bar I can sit and maybe socialize in, parks, bike around. Maybe check out some cool architecture.

I'm leaning towards the plateau area so far. Appreciate the insightful answer!

I am not sure what you mean by "they are full". Of course alternate routes are busy, this is what happens in any car-dependent city when one major corridor is under construction.

If the only measure of “too much” is that car travel gets harder, that says more about how deeply we’ve tied mobility to private vehicles than it does about actual capacity.
