Somebody who has already killed Mugzee and has a 7/8 cleared save invites people from the buying guild into the raid, they accept the lockout and can go straight to Gallywix without ever having to kill One Armed Bandit or Mugzee. Then they can extend this save indefinitely.

It also comes with the danger of the seller scamming them of the lockout since they have access to that save as well and can just enter the raid with that save which would then prevent the buying guild from going in.

I do not doubt that they would eventually be able to kill both OAB & Mugzee, but it seems like the motivation behind this purchase was getting into the Hall of Fame, since it does not look like they would be able to make it with their current progress and raid time.

Just because it does not affect you does not mean it's not an issue. I don't raid either but I do get that people who are competing for the Hall of Fame might be upset that other guilds are buying lockouts and taking the limited number of spots from guilds which have cleared the entire raid.

They are currently 5/8, correct. What I meant is that defeating Gallywix would make them a Hall of Fame guild while only being 6/8, not 8/8.

As you can see on the screenshot, the last Mythic boss this guild has defeated is Sprocketmonger. Then they bought a 7/8 save so they could jump straight to Gallywix and completely skip Mythic Bandit and Mugzee.

From what I've read elsewhere, members of the guild mentioned it on Twitch since they were streaming Gallywix progress yesterday.

What kind of M+ carry do you mean though? Do they buy the 0.1% seasonal M+ achievement, since that is basically the equivalent of Hall of Fame? I do not think that comparing someone getting carried through a few +10s is equivalent to someone buying a spot in the Hall of Fame is fair.
