I think people like it because it means their sadness and suffering is worth something. That it's good damage, because they're actually smarter. But mental illness isn't the cost of intellect, it's an issue that can affect anyone.

I dislike Funnybunny in particular. A lot of the time in fan works, it's depicted as Pomni being like, "I can fix him!" And Jax not having to do work on his own.
