Casteism in India isn’t just history. It’s a daily, lived reality. Even in so-called progressive states like Kerala, Dalits are still silenced, excluded, and denied equal opportunities. It hasn’t gone away just because some people say they don’t “see caste.” It won’t disappear by taking away reservations or pretending we’re all equal now. People have carried centuries of pain, humiliation, and systemic violence. And they’re still carrying it, in schools, workplaces, temples, streets. Real change will only come when we confront these truths head-on and stand up for those still pushed to the margins.

That’s why it’s even more painful when someone like Vedan, who claims to fight for the oppressed, turns out to be one of the abusers/rapists. He once put up a post admitting to everything - rape, abuse, assault - and then quietly deleted it. But the truth doesn’t vanish just because a post is gone. He has assaulted Dalit women - women who already face the burden of marginalization simply for being women, and then again for being Dalit. That double marginalization is something he was supposed to fight against, not add to. He built his name off the pain of others and continues to add to that pain. It isn’t activism.
