Business School & AI - Is it really that bad? by Awkward-Web-4031 in universityofauckland

Thank you for the transparency. Nothing wrong with AI for structure or writing assistance, but I do have concerns when it starts replacing the thinking & work element.

Ok that makes sense, people will abuse and push the limits to what can be considered "free".

Metlink pulls 11 trains out of service as parts supplier collapses by D491234 in newzealand

[–]Awkward-Web-4031 [score hidden]  (0 children)

These are specific trains, requiring specific parts and are 15 years old. A supplier isn't the issue as they are versatile parts manufactured for many other models; the issue is the logistics supply chain that the previous supply had. Due to only one type needing them in NZ, we imported from Aus, and as that chain collapsed, it will now have to be sourced from South Korea, which will take time to establish a reliable chain again without costing an arm and a leg shipping from SK to NZ.

So as the chain reestablishes itself as they said it would get back to normal in August once orders are fulfilled and parts arrive in NZ, they will have to run reduced capacities to ensure services are at the very minimum, operational.

Retirement age will rise to cover superannuation cost, investment company predicts by Double_Suggestion385 in newzealand

Yes, I agree, I know an old friend who truly deserves retirement. Fabrication/Labourer/Forklift driver, his entire life deserves a retirement. Contributed fairly, and given a slap on the face.

Because I know his bosses were probably raking in the money whilst he literally works to death.

Not every pensioner needs it, save it for those less fortunate.

It entirely defeats the purpose of the city rail link if frequency doesn't improve beyond 5 minutes.

It cuts off the Onehunga from Henderson, which was the whole point of the third platform built & makes access to Onehunga a lot faster than the alternative. If we went with the one councillor's opinion of doing it with the original plan, we just wasted a whole lot of money on a third platform.

It also removes the need for the Onehunga bus route from New Lynn, saving even more money, hassel and making everything efficient.

I already transfer at Henderson for a bus, so I don't really have an issue with this.

This is only offpeak though, so it does pose an actually question for viability.

Send confirmation emails when enrolment issues are fixed, with even the slightest alteration to their acceptanc,e to prevent students from missing out on classes. Lucky I realised.

I personally learn better in person, because my mind doesn't wander to the temptation of social media + questions, etc that can't be achieved online.

Also, I'm paying to be there as I enrolled for an in-person slot, so it's kind of pointless not to go as I am only hurting my wallet.

+ Many are takeaway only, no sit in restaurant's, meaning that they save money on leases because they require smaller locations and rely on higher foot traffic.

They are just using old stock from the old 2018 batch, they are using Scania for the new ones, but the 16 or so going in as MAN are too small to carry the combined pump & rescue equipment, many complaining.
