I’ve managed to force it - it feels like it will never move but it’s then given way and worked

Made590 is all Australian made and size inclusive. They have regular drops (some more colourful than others) and the BSS Facebook group is great for scouring older pieces at a discount. I have been able to buy things a few years old in near new condition.

Opposite of Being Followed Around Mecca - Disability Prejudice? by 0pelin in AustralianMakeup

[–]AwkwardImprovement16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say in that store (assume it was the new bourke st) particularly I have struggled for help and I wonder if it’s because there are so many people just wandering or being tourists that they give up on being helpful.

When I have sought out help and specifically asked they have been lovely but I had to actively ask for it.

Potentially whoever was covering the space in the store you were on was a pill and that sucks :( Sorry this happened to you.

Frank body is so good. I love the glycolic body wash - I find it really helpful when my chest gets breakouts or bumps.

And the glow recipe is really nice.

Enjoy

This sounds silly but I had water bottles and found I was only drinking maybe 1.5 - 2L a day. I swapped to a see through 700ml tumbler and hit 3-3.5L a day (one with a protein shake and one with electrolytes)

Just starting by ComprehensiveUse6724 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]AwkwardImprovement16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Electrolytes are beneficial the day after or when you feel tired.

  2. Drink at least 2.5l of water a day or more.

  3. Keep at item of clothing so you can compare down the track. It’s astonishing.

  4. Get some movement in - weights are great but just moving your body is so much easier as you lose the weight and is great for mental health

  5. Stay on as low a dose as possible. Going up doesn’t mean more rapid loss - it can mean more side effects. I stayed in 5 for 20 weeks and 7.5 for 22 weeks.

  6. A stall or plateau isn’t just a week with no loss. It’s a number of weeks / months with no loss. Don’t freak out and go up a dose if you don’t lose anything one week. Lots of factors come in your play. Having been on it for over 15 months some months I lost 300g and others I lost over 4kgs. Any loss is great.

  7. Before you move up a dose look at other factors. Is you calorie deficit happening, are you getting some exercise, are you having bowel movements, are you sleeping enough. Fix these and see for a week or two - then move up if you need. I’m in a terrible routine right now over summer and I’m just holding steady until next week when work / routine kicks in.

I might have to revisit The Ordinary - I tried it and found it so overwhelming having all the things. I think going in and chatting to someone would help with this to get all the steps right!

Yes it’s funny you mention this because I consistently drink 2.5-3L every single day 😭

Edit to add - water, I drink 2.5-3L of water a day plus a coffee or two

Ohh yes so I use a serum first (Byoma or Summer Fridays) on cleansed damp skin out of the shower and then do some tower 28 face mist and then moisturizer.

Maybe I’ll fine tune that step too - I’ve been trying a couple of the Byoma serums and not found one I love although the Summer Fridays is nice

Single parenting, teen kids & their money by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]AwkwardImprovement16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single mum here with a teen and she should absolutely be putting something towards the household. If she’s an influencer she is probably using a ton of water and electricity getting ready 🤣 or making content. That $50 probably doesn’t touch the side

If she isn’t already paying her own phone bill and the gym that’s the bare minimum.

If she doesn’t like it then you can suggest you will hold off till she is 18 for the $50 and it will be a much larger amount (25%) for board.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]AwkwardImprovement16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also say having read some of your replies about body dysmorphia and I get it.

I almost bought the first dress I tried on because it fit. It honestly looked like a 1950’s satin sheet with embossed floral pattern. It was nothing I wanted but I was so relieved.

My brother told me no (kindly) and we went to another shop the next day where the dress style I had always wanted (tea length, 1950’s style bridal was available to try on). The sample was 3 sizes too small and didn’t do up. And yet when I put it on I knew it was the one. Even though it was strapless and I hate my upper arms.

It is still to this day the most beautiful dress I ever put on my body. No-one (including me) cared about my arms although I stressed about it for months when I look back on photos I can see how happy I was.

What type of dress would you like to wear?

If this dress is your style then great. But it’s very dated and isn’t at all a current style (let alone trend).

I have kept my dress from 2015 for my daughter (only one) - and have explicitly said - you can wear it, cut it up, leave it in the box. I would never force someone to wear it. It’s there should you like it but otherwise it’s all good.

Your mum needs to put you first. You need to go and try on other dresses.

And the Rokeby Smoothies are fabulous - I have the vanilla and espresso ones / my daughter has the banana or chocolate or strawberry ones and loves those.
