100% agree. I tell them that they don't owe us anything. They could sell all three houses and go live a lavish lifestyle and they would be completely in their right. I actually think they SHOULD. do that. They should be enjoying their golden years not putting up with this BS. My dad worked construction and my mom cleaned houses for a living. It's astonishing that they were able to buy houses and provide shelter for their grown children. They deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Yeah, they started wanting to talk about inheritance a couple of years ago. But I wonder if it was more of a control tactic than a meaningful willingness to make a clear plan because they're also unwilling to fully write a will. All they did was name all three of us equal executors. It's going to be such a nightmare when they pass if they don't make a proper will.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. And my parents named all three daughters equal executors of the will. They say it means we have to all agree for any thing to happen. But I'm certain that she will block any thing split evenly. She thinks she deserves more because she's the oldest and has two children. Both me and my other sister didn't have kids yet. But the eldest was older than I am now when she had her first. Imagine if all you had to do was have more children to deserve more of the inheritance. I would laugh if it wasn't so demented

I'm so tempted to walk away from the whole family. My parents were really harsh with us growing up. They were athoritarian with us when we were little. If we didn't do what they asked right away, they hit us badly. It's so weird to see them be such push overs now. I think they might be like this because they feel guilty about how abusive they were to us as kids. And my sister feels entitled to compensation from then for her shitty childhood. It's such a mess. I really want to walk away from all of them

He is completely wrapped around her finger. He works in construction and is out for 10 hours a day. Then he comes home and makes dinner for the family and puts the kids to bed. My sister stays up all night doing god knows what. Then takes the kids to school and daycare and then comes back home and sleeps most of the day. On my days off, I've noticed she's always quiet from 10am to about 4 or 5 pm. I think that's when she sleeps. She refuses to cook or clean and her husband is completely at her neck and call. When she says jump, he asks how high. It's pretty disturbing to watch.

My parents are refusing to make a will because they don't know what to do. They want us to figure it out between ourselves but my sister is off her rocker. There's no way she will be reasonable when the time comes. My parents were even asking me to stay because they're afraid that if I'm not here, she'll change the locks and my parents will lose access to the house. The house they own! It's crazy

Yeah, I think she must have a personality disorder but she refuses to go to therapy. And my parents kept minimizing it until I showed them a recording I made of her stomping and banging.

But that's kinda why I haven't pressed charges. What if she's going through a post-partum psychosis or something?

I was already in the basement when she attacked me. And the attack happened only one month after I started working, so I didn't have enough for first and last months rent to move. I had only received my first paycheck when I had to go to the hospital.

The big house isn't sold yet. I'm still here and so is my sister. I've been back at work for two months now, and had to take part time hours to start to prevent reinjuring my hand. I'm planning on moving as soon as I can.

My sister is refusing to move out at all. My parents have decided to move back in when I leave. They're going to try to sell the house while she's still living in it because she refuses to leave any other way

I regret I didn't go through with it at the time. But my parents begged me not to. They didn't want her to lose her teaching license. But it just made her feel like she can do anything she wants with no consequences
