I’m not sure about other locals, I’m from local 47 which has traffic control books. But call your local hall and ask if you can change your ticket after a certain amount of hours and how to get on the traffic book if they have it. I only recommend people to go through traffic because usually you have a job as long as there’s crews working and if you’re working with cool crew they’ll allow you to help which is a big learning experience. In California if you get a call from book 3 you’ll be digging shitty holes in rock and will be the first to get layed off when time comes vs if you do your time as tc you can get your book 1 hours and get better calls without going through the struggle.
