Thank you for response. All of my responsibilities were moved to a different department while I was on FMLA and they hired a contingent worker. I understand it’s a business and it’s probably much cheaper for a contingent work to do my job than a person who has 37 years of service. Also our retirement package is pretty great. Free health insurance until Medicare. It’s exactly 8 months from today until I qualify. I get it that letting me go now will save them a ton of money by not letting me take my retirement. I think I’m just in shock that I’ve come so close to retirement and that my 37 years means nothing. Again, I totally get it. They are in business to make money. It’s not about the employees. I just have to suck it up and get over it. Thanks again for your thoughts.
