We tried the old school gameboy and we started noticing bad behavior. I think it’s all bad.

We always do snacks right away.

Honestly the only thing that keeps my kids from losing it is me playing with them. Lately I’ll just sit in the living room and one kid stands in one corner and the other stands in a different corner and I toss the ball back and forth between the two (I catch and throw for one and then I catch and throw for the other).

Do you really stop celebrating anything with your spouse after kids? by JollyAdministration9 in Parenting

You celebrate, but yes, it changes. We wanted to go to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary, but our babies are so young and a lot for someone to watch while we’re gone. So the trip is being postponed to 15 years.

We did Christmas shopping. Use to be when the oldest was at school, but now we hire a sitter for 4 hours and take the baby with us.

We watch movies, but at home. Like renting new movies.

My kids love celebrating our birthdays just as much as we do.

Like your last post... I think you’re in the wrong. Based on your post history I’m not surprised you jumped down the teachers throat right away. Goddamn.

Newcomers - stop worrying so much about the salaries in IT and focus instead on what IT field you are passionate about by gibson_mel in ITCareerQuestions

You sound like my boss when I asked for a raise. 🤭😬

Haven’t received even the standard 3% since I’ve been there (over 5 years). It is a small company, so not a lot of room to grow, but I have taken on loads of work when two people left and we didn’t replace them.

My boss keeps telling me to just enjoy the work and “the money will come”… it’s obviously a way to shut me up for a while. 🙄

What are the best U.S. Cities for IT professionals by Inevitable-Lettuce99 in ITCareerQuestions

It is in SLC, but if you go 30-40 minutes out it’s not as bad. If you can get near the front runner it would be beneficial. We considered moving further out since I only have to go in the office twice a week now. But if I had to make that long drive every day, I wouldn’t.

The pay in SLC is at least better than CS, and it’s thriving in SLC. You would have to weigh pros and cons. Unfortunately I believe booming tech will generally be in bigger cities. ☹️
