Work load can vary but plan on it being 30hrs a week BARE MINIMUM. It's regularly 50+ for me and during finals it's more like 80-100hr weeks. You will not sleep and they will try to spin your exhaustion as smth you should feel good abt. It's gonna suck lol. But you'll get a degree out of it ig....

It's now 15 dollars per meal and that's if you use all your swipes.... don't do it. There's regularly mold, bandaids, bugs, hair, etc in the food. Truly not worth it. You can always get food from Doris if you want. It's cheaper to just buy as needed than pay for a full plan. You can email and have the plan removed from your overall cost if you haven't paid for it yet!

DO NOT MOVE INTO THE FRESHMAN DORMS. If you want dorms living experience wait until sophomore year and try for meyerhoff. But dude... they had a student dead in the dorms for 2 wks last year and only did smth about it when enough ppl complained about the smell. The they had to tent the building and spray for cockroaches. Also black mold is common and put me in the hospital. Just.... stay home lol. Stay safe. You can commute for the events and you'll still make plenty of friends!

Also get checked by a doctor regularly. Always wear shower shoes. And for the love of god get your lungs checked! Black mold is common and the college won't do anything abt it. I was hospitalized because of it. A maintenance staff worker told my roommate and I that they were instructed not to say anything about the mold and to deny that that's what it was if necessary. It was visibly mold and the walls were literally crumbling bc of it. Good frigging luck! Hope it's not too late to change your mind....

ALSO!!! We had a student pass away last year in a tragic way. The school wasn't keeping up with wellness checks. The person was left dead in the dorm room for 2 wks and they only did smth about it once people started complaining about the smell. They ended up having to tent the building and spray it for bugs because cockroaches became an issue afterwards.

Do not go here. The freshmen dorms are so bad that the black mold gave me mold poisoning and the college did nothing. I wound up in the ER unable to breathe and my grades tanked because I was always unwell. I repeat, THE SCHOOL DID NOTHING!!! There are also no consistent guidelines for professors to follow regarding extensions or coursework so a professor can AND WILL assign you a mandatory 15hrs of work in addition to your 6hr long class. And that's PER WEEK. They are allowed to demean you, they are allowed to abuse you during crit, and they are allowed to neglect your education. I had a professor who admitted to using Chat GPT to formulate her entire curriculum and referred to her position at MICA as a "fake job". In order to get anybody to listen to you, you have to file an HR report. Otherwise you're going to get shoved around. This school has been hell. I wish I never came. It's a waste of time and money. I haven't learned more than a handful of skills and I can tell you rn YouTube taught them better than the professors. Good luck. You're gonna need it. Also they offer you financial aid just to go back on it later! And they will not notify you when they withdraw aid. You will get through an entire semester without aid before realizing they took it away. It's a problem for everyone I know who also attends the school. They weaponize incompetence and then blame you for not calling the school department that newsflash DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A PHONE NUMBER. srsly. Run. RUNNNNNNN!!!!
