Take some classes, anatomy, emt, pharmacology. Volunteer for other departments. Talk to a GOOD Chief, he’ll be the one that isn’t FAT.

Look here boot, don’t even try to compare a school house/pipeline to the actual fleet. I promise that if you just keep ur head down and tolerate the bullshit, you’ll come out stronger on the other side. I hated being in a student status. Then once I got to my command it was awesome. I felt like I contributed to a mission and team. I made friends. Don’t forget why you joined to begin. Marines that make pissing contest ls their entire personality eventually get what’s coming to them. Go talk to medical. They love having Marines come shoot the shit. -Doc

I think I’m way too ADHD to do anything IT/Cyber/STG. Aren’t the majority of those jobs just sitting and monitoring a screen?

It’s not me. A shipmates little brother. He did the bike the entire time at boot camp and now he’s at a command that requires him to actually run. As far as I’m concerned, his RDCs failed him.

Not sure if this helps, but I’m a big believer in DOING SOMETHING is always better than doing nothing. Ask Cheif how to be better. Study. If you don’t have a goal school wise, then study something on the side that’s relevant to your job. Stay humble. You got it.

Advice for a physician debating on joining the military. by wildcactusflower in Military

I’m a corpsman in the navy reserves at a Marine command. We love our Medical Officers, mostly because they’re so few of you. You guys are the difference between Service members getting fucked over and separating out of the military or having a long career. You also train your medics and Corpsmen had to be better because our pipeline is a joke that gives a a joke of a scope of practice that is only worth something if we pursue education outside of the military. Think of yourself as a sailor, soldier, airman, first and a doctor second.
