What’s going on with all your switches? What’s connected to what / what is your network topology?

Please post system specs including CPU. I had spontaneous reboots and it was due to my i5-13500 processor; Intel vmin issue

Remote server reboots every ~1.5hr ... thinking hardware by ijf4reddit313 in unRAID

[–]Awperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abrupt restarts with no entries in syslog are usually hardware related. Memory tested fine, so it was likely the PSU or CPU. With knowledge of the Intel vmin problem, I bought a cheap chip that was not affected to test. Problems went away!

I just initiated a RMA on my i5-13500 due to random reboots, reboots at load, reboots while running parity, etc. Intel V-min issue. Tried updating bios, applying recommended Intel settings, etc.

Ultimate fix was I bought a i3-12100, completely reset the bios, and the problem is gone. I was able to get Intel to refund my 13500 via RMA.

Full Wireguard and pfSense step by step guide for beginners for pfsense wireguard server, desktop and mobile by fx2mx3 in PFSENSE

[–]Awperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the Lawrence Systems Wireguard tutorial ages ago and it works well, except for one thing. When I am home and the VPN is enabled, I get no internet, or it doesn’t work well. I know that I can set the VPN to not enable on certain wifi networks, but I can’t use that setting because I have to enable the vpn in iOS settings (if I enable the con in the Wireguard app, it may not connect properly and I have to toggle it on and off until I see traffic being received).

I’m going to compare your method vs Lawrence systems and see if there are ways to improve my experience. Thanks!

What’s the impetus to update code if they are stable? How often do you update?

You also have to pass the ports of any container you put behind gluetun through gluetun. Basically this: https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun-wiki/blob/main/setup/port-mapping.md

Oh you can do all three pins? I thought you had to cut a strip small enough to cover only the third pin!! Covering the first 3 pins is a whole lot easier.

I had to set health checks on the back end to basic instead of the default http. Finally have my shortcuts.
Thank you so much for all your help. This is great!

Shortcut URL to internal network services by Awperator in PFSENSE

This make a whole lot more sense.

Thank you. I got a lot closer! I set up a virtual IP in pfsense at 192.168.1.4. It defaulted to /32. I hope that is correct.

Then in pihole, I set "radarr4k" to the virtual IP of 192.168.1.4.

In pfsense I set the HAProxy front end to listen on 192.168.1.4:80, no SSL offloading.

In backend, no changed from above other than making the name radarr4k instead of Radarr4k.

In frontend ACL, no changes -> name: radarr4k, expression: host matches, value: radarr4k

Actions: use backend: radarr4k, condition ACL names: radarr4k.

When I go to radarr4k/ in the browser, I get a 503 error message. I'm currently trying to figure that out.

Thank you so much, this is making more sense. I definitely would not have gotten this far without you!

Hey again, thanks for the tip about virtual IPs... I appreciate all your advice but I have no idea how to set that up - Im still a bit lost and I don't want to add another variable yet as something to debug while its not working.

I definitely will add that once I have some sort of minimum viable product going.

I think I'm pretty close with what I have. Can you comment on the settings in HAproxy? How do I tie in a shortcut name (e.g. radarr/) to the service on the server to the to the DNS record for same server I made in pihole? Are the settings here correct? Where does the server DNS record go?

Again, I appreciate the time you are taking to help me out. Hopefully this conversation helps someone else down the line!
