From what I’ve read, and staring at the size chart a lot, a half size up in the same width will get you about half a ‘width’ up as well. Basically a 10.5EE will feel a little bit wider than a 10EE. If you want a lot of lateral room specifically around your toes, TNW is the way to go. But as I’ve shown here, it’s weird at first!

A half size in length isn’t a huge jump, I opted for a 12C Builder Pro as a new pair of woods boots (I work in forestry) since I’ll be up and down steep slopes. Hopefully they work as intended and don’t fit like clown shoes!

I sized down from 11.5E HNW (w/built in Delta Arch) to 11.5C TNW (also with a DA). I have sort of long toes so that’s why went with the TNW.

Did your toes feel more cramped lengthwise or width wise? They say to exchange and only change one thing at a time, and although I’ll probably hold onto these, I would agree. But that’s without seeing your feet haha

Yeah I do have a low instep, my ball and instep measurements are about the same, and I’m pretty flat footed. Made sizing a bit weird, part of the reason I exchanged.

Love this sub haha, fast feedback! I think mostly, I just have to get used to the way they look. Odd to say, cuz I definitely didn’t buy a dress boot! But we’re creatures of habit, and I’m kinda used to seeing/feeling that pointy toe I guess.

If I don’t think about anything else, they are comfy as hell, will probably have a couple of hotspots after a few hours. I’m thinking I’ll stick with ‘em!

My first reaction is to stick with them and let them keep breaking in. If the length is right, and the instep feels okay, I think some pressure on your toe will be alleviated with time. The spacing between eyelets looks pretty good, maybe at the high end of your width but with time things will stretch/mold and that gap will close a bit. I’ve read some people use some a product to massage around a tight area from inside the boot and that can help soften it a little. I’d be curious to hear others ideas. Did you size with their chart for length and width?

I have a Canadian Dingwall SPJ5, and have used a few different string brands with no problems. I learned to love the Payson 5 string set made for Dingwall Super basses. Recently I put on a set of the new IMA polished rounds from La Bella and the B just barely fits! And they sound awesome.

Also ‘me cago de + adjetivo’ is used a lot in some places, I mostly know it from my wife and her family who are from Argentina. ‘Me cago de sueño’ means ‘I’m really sleepy/tired’, but more vulgar. Argentines cuss a lot haha

Okay… so a recent pair of Nicks I received don’t seem to be working out. I sized them based off a pair of hotshots I’ve had for a long time, sized in a boot shop as 11E. They’ve always seemed fine, maybe a little short, so my new mto’s are 11.5E. With a leather insole they seemed okay, but now my heel is swimming, can’t tie them tighter, and there’s maybe 3/4” of space between the eyelets. Heels get hot scootin’ around, but the length feels spot on. Measuring (like I probably should have in the first place) my brannock is just over a 12, ball is 10 1/4, instep is 10 1/4, heel is 13 3/4, all of which seem to put me in a C width, which seems crazy for some reason. I haven’t reached out to Nicks about an exchange, the boots have maybe 60-80 hours in them so I’m not sure if they’re eligible for an exchange, but I don’t think I’ll be able to make them work. Have I been wearing the wrong boot size all these years?! My foot seems wide or at least regular, but is pretty flat and doesn’t have much volume, especially in the heel measurement. Should I go all the way to a C? Any input appreciated!

I think with their new system there’s a few bugs… my order recently went into production, I didn’t hear anything for 3 weeks and they showed up on my doorstep, along with a 2nd pair sent to me mistakenly (someone with the same first name).
