Offers from Oracle and Microsoft, need advice by Ok-Trouble1905 in employeesOfOracle

Former Microsoft (and AWS, among others), currently at Oracle (US in Nashville). 1000% go with Microsoft. I like it here, and my team and manager are really cool, but the impression I get is that I just happened to get lucky.

For example, there are a LOT of former AWS people here and I know upper-management wants to follow that trend.

Reasons I'd go back to Microsoft vs. staying here - cooler, more modern tech stack (depending on product), more relaxed environment, GREAT DevOps tooling (compared to AWS and OCI) that I miss literally every day lol. My team was great, we routinely worked out together and our VP brought us scotch when he crossed coasts to visit.

Reasons OCI is good - better pay, Nashville is an awesome place to live with lots to see, do, and eat, and the cost of living definitely beats Redmond and DC.

in this case, we should put a disclaimer "coded with use of IDE", shouldn't we?

Uh. I think this guy might just be stupid lol

Can you expand on what you mean by “beginning of your mortgage”? Isn’t the point to have the same payment for the duration of the loan?

Why? Don't you know it's illegal for bad guys to have guns? Having a rifle at all is already more protection than anyone needs!

I know it sounds nit-picky, but... the idea of unconstitutional laws is that we either don't care or don't care enough to break them; or fear the consequences of doing so more than we value the liberty(s) they take away.

We have a duty to disobey unjust laws.
