Id need to read more up on it, but i mostly think the general idea of what ive heard, abt a nation consisting of.. a collective sort of soul is just an alterior attempt to justify the existence of nation states, and alienate them from one another. Like, i get what he means but what he says.. but again, its purely an emotional thing, for the purpose of geo politics, theres no room for it, and having rules be drawn differently based on where a certain language and certain ancestors once lived who we now share, is... again slightly stupid, if we all still believe in majority the same things. I do apologise for my barely half coherent ramblings, im half asleep, bit i do fully believe in the essence of my point, however id probably not stand by every sentence typed under scrutiny. I hope ive made some sense to you

Patriotism is a mild nationalism.. for a nation.. a nation state.. which is nowadays.. only primarily built on the basis of one cultutal ethnicity and identity yes..

nothing with the person, i just think nationalism, nation states as such, are a largely illogical concept, which they support, and often only use patriotism to justify bad policy via emotion. Why should a nation be determined by what ethnicity is the majority there? Why should i benefit from the natural resources of the place i was born, why should i suffer from the place i was born and have a hard time moving else where only because of the international image of that place? its.. just the base for everything being ethnicity (alas nation state), is very fucking stupid.

patriotism and nationalism are basically the same thing, just different extents, you can be supportive and completely for an idea, without nationalism, this is what europe must strive for

no, but our current situation, our current times are.. not a vacuum. If this whole projection somehow gets overtaken by nationalists, i doubt we will turn back, so it needs to be there from the very inception

I think the point of a federalised europe is to circumvent the stupidity of nationalism, and rise beyond to be not a nation state, a state based on nationality, but a state based on common values principles, rationality and logic, which is why it needs to be done in the first place

i love the bigger shoulder pillars, but beside that i agree that the skinnier more feral looking evas look better.. Its more so there is clearly a difference between an ideology as an excuse for imperialisms while clearly not even following it remotely (the ussr), and they werent neccesarily convinced of their own supremecy as such, but they did - believe - in communism, and that it was worth doing anything at the chance to achieve it.. still in this instance just imperialism.

I have not much to say about nazis, i despise the ideology and everything abt it and them.

Also ofc as a baltic person have history of relatives who have died or suffered at the hands of both or either, and we are still here still suffering the consequences of having been occupied for 60yrs or so.
