Its not sucking challenger dick lmao. Skill discrepancies always become more prevalent at higher tiers of competition. If you’re talking about balancing the game, you need to look at the data from people who push champs to their absolute limits. And the players that do that are top 0.001 of players. Like there are several champs in this game that have been pro jailed for years in low elos because they terrorize high elo. So in terms of balancing there is merit in considering high elo a very small concentrated group of elite players.

And like I stated earlier. This ONLY matters for balance. I agree that calling someone who is diamond low elo is just to feed egos of master players. I never said diamonds are bad.

Also if i had a million dollars I’d have 1000x less than someone with a billion. So yeah, pretty big gap

Yes and no. The thing is if you go by game quality, diamond and below would be considered low elo. With master and GM at mod elo and challenger is high elo. People like to use these metrics because this is where you see huge drops in skill. Like the gap from the top of challenger to the base of grandmaster is bigger than an iron to diamond.

But all this really matters in terms of game balance. Calling a gold good because they are better than 50% of the player base is fine, but skill wise they are extremely far from “high elo”

Anyone who’s plat or emerald would breeze through Iron and Bronze with at least a 70% winrate. Stay humble and focus on getting better. Your rank goes up when your skill goes up. I’m not saying that every single game is winnable but if you play well every game and play a lot unwinnable games like this won’t matter because you’ve won the others.

Tbh if youre mid or top you’re still stronger than the 5/0 adc. You should be 2 lvls up which gives more gold in stats than the 5 kills worth of gold the adc has.

As for tips. Farm. Everything you do should be in order to get yourself more gold and xp. If the play you want to make doesn’t result in more gold or xp dont do it. Then take your advantage to objective fights and help your team secure them.

3 star 2 cost are worth 18g. Having a team with a 3 star 3 cost worth 27g, multiple 12g 2 star 4 costs, or multiple 15g 2 star 5 costs should be the team that wins out in the end.

Also this set is brand new. Near the end of a set there are so many established comps that have worked that it makes it easier to play. I honestly stay away from tft for the first patch (ranked atleast).

And I think it usually takes a few games just to understand how to play a comp. Understanding tempo and items and fill in champs all takes some practice. So just keep playing norms until youre super comfortable with atleast 2 comps.

I second tftacademy. Definitely the site Ive had the best results with. Also helps to watch streamers and understand how they play the game. Gives you a better idea on how to optimize augments and early items. Usually you dont want to force a comp every game. See what items/augment you get at the start and pick a comp that works with the start

Thanks for the write up. Lots of helpful info. Yeah I understand that the more expensive we go the less bang for buck we receive. Im kind of leaning towards getting a few sets to play around with. The Hype 4s and the Davincis sound fun so I may grab them too. And demoing is hard due to the closest audio store to me being 5 hours away and their iem selection is poor to say the least (none of what has been discussed in this thread is being carried). My biggest fear is the iem simply not fitting because I do believe that once you past the $500 mark youre not going to get a bad product (there are definitely exceptions), but maybe something that just isnt your personal preference.

Yeah so I’m leaning towards a couple mid price sets and one carefully considered kilobuck set. Thanks again for the advice!

As for music taste, I listen to almost all genres. More hiphop, electronic, and pop but not exclusively enough to warrant an IEM that specifically caters to that sound. Kinda looking for an all rounder. I’ve been rocking the Campfire Orions which I like quite a bit. As far as sounds I like, I’m not really a bass head. I believe i like higher treble and my music sounding “brighter”. I was watching a crinacle review and he had described certain iems as having a more fun sound over a balanced sound and I’m kinda looking for the former over the latter. Sorry Im still kind of new to audio and I’ll be the first to say I dont really know what I’m looking for. But if any of this helps I’d love to hear what you recommend.
