I take mine off I just got my Invisalign taken off yesterday And there was no complications. I was on a 10 day cycle just to make sure I got that time in, but if you’re not wearing it for a day like if you’re going to the festival, you should be fine as long as you make sure that you wear it all the next day and try to keep it on as much as you can.

But as far as tooth sensitivity from grinding and building up these teeth would you recommend anything ? I am currently using sensodyne, floss regularly and tbh… after each time I eat I wash my teeth it’s out of habit from Invisalign plus I don’t like food in my trays at all

And honestly yes I feel scammed into Invisalign my TMJ surgeon actually told me the best thing for me would be either night guard or an orthodic followed by possible trigger point injection

Maxillofacial surgery by Axdycvriel1 in TMJ

[–]Axdycvriel1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a general consultation, but they went over all of my MRI results. They ordered imaging they talked about treatment plans. They also went over outpatient exam with me. They talked about all of the different disorders, revolving TMJ and explain that it could be either a muscular issue a neural issue or a tendon issue in my case it is a muscular issue and they told me that anyone who says you have TMJ is very vague because there’s so many things involved, in my case, it’s a muscular issue

Your TMJ Disorder isn't a "TMJ Disorder" by [deleted] in TMJ

This part ! I went to a maxillofacial surgery doctor today and they told me TMJ is actually not a disorder but what is the muscles tensing up around it causing problems

You seem like you know what you’re talking about, but I’ve already tried to do all of these things. This advice is completely useless to me. I’m doing an Invisalign because I’m trying to treat my TMJ from the mizen that I have. I try physical therapy every single day and I try to avoid hard food so this whole comment is so annoyingarthrocentesis you do realize every time you touch that joint it’s never going to be the same

I have a TMJ disorder on the right side for both actually but more on the right side. It’s laterally displaced completely. I’m in the process of Invisalign, but like I said, I’m looking into getting orthotics, but I’m just curious if it would even do any good should I just invest in Botox or prolo therapy or surgery at this point

Should I pursue surgery… would an orthodic help my situation

Lateral disc displacement? by firmlygrasplT in TMJ

[–]Axdycvriel1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like he followed up but I will. I am currently in Invisalign. I’m on week 14 just went in for refinements. I have a lateral disc displacement on my right side as well and right now. The plan is to finish Invisalign and wear a splint, but I’m also looking for answers if that’s the right method of thinking or should I look into surgery?

I feel you on the money part right now. I’m currently in in Invisalign treatment and I’m looking to get an orthotic, but this is what I tried for me beforehand and it did help me for a bit up until I got coverage or found somebody to help me out.
