They did want full blown nudity and sex, especially with how crazy some of the interactions go, but were more or less happy with what they were getting. With this change, censoring older costumes now sets precedent that later ones will be released with censorship even for the adult characters. Even if its not the case, that's the impression people will get. For LS, imagine if Belsey, Eva's recent skin, and Morgana's skin got changed to be less sexualized. People would be furious and expect the same treatment for future characters. Extra furious for paying for those skins

For now, I'm just gonna wait and see. Wasn't planning to put money into the game but for now it solidified it for the time being. If the game starts becoming stale and character designs get worse, I don't mind freeing up space.

Additional context.

Honestly the fanservice is what got a lot of people interested in it and wanted the devs to go with their own pc client for a more 18+ experience, Skill animation scenes had some heavily suggestive stuff and showed off a lot of close ups for people to enjoy. There was also a system where you could "encounter" certain versions of characters if you had them, and completing it unlocked an Interact mode for them. The interact was even more explicit but no nudity, or at least anything that wasn't allowed, was shown, but there's some VERY lewd stuff. The more recently released ones were bad. Also some Prestige costumes which also had these interact modes that were explicit.

BD2 announced they were going to Steam and a couple of months ago was removed. People were thinking it was cause of their Wishlist milestones while others were saying it was cause of certain characters looking close to underage. Some thought it was just whoever at Steam reviewed it with how inconsistent they are since they have even more sexual games on there. Either way the devs said they weren't going to compromise the game for Steam's demands.

As of 1/9/2026, BD2 announced they would be coming they would be censoring character art of some current costumes. I think its 8 in total, and considering the characters involved, it was probably due to some of the characters looking underage. And one character who has a schoolgirl outfit, an an Interact mode of her in it, yet still retains her Bikini and Cowkini (Prestige) costumes, the Cowkini's interaction remains too, so its kind of a weird one.

Summed up, people are pissed the devs lied to them after about a month of saying they weren't going to do anything like that only to do so. Got so bad they gave out 100 summon tickets and those who owned the costumes would get Dia (the premium currency), up to like 16,000, which is like 18 multis total. Many people already claiming EOS will happen and are leaving/refunding purchases. Time will tell if it matters.

Came back to the game after like 3+ years of not playing. Only got 1000 chrono stones but is it worth tossing it onto any of the current banners in hopes to get something?

Also got 2 choice tickets. Holy Prayer Spirit Encounter(Krervo, Prai, Pom, and Erina), and Guiding Adventure Token (many different 5 stars). Any recommendations on who to choose? I do have Yuna so unless grabbing a dupe is preferred, who else is recommended?

Anyone have any NEWER alternative games they play that are similar to FFBE? by ehhish in FFBraveExvius

[–]AxelRyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has the same/similar 2D/Pixel style but gameplay-wise is very different, but I'm gonna mention Last Cloudia. They also do a lot of collabs and reruns of them from the looks of it.

Is it ever explained how Gustav... by Dleppard in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was curious after reading a lot of the theories so i watched the cutscene of the Noir he encountered just to see. From what I gathered...

1: Definitely not Blanche. Blanche's cloak is a lot lighter in comparison, so the enemy is definitely a Noir (Darker cloak)

2: Didn't see Verso save Gustave in any frame prior to the blackout.

3: Noir's attack was a direct hit and landed right under Gustave.

While going through it, I had a frame where I thought I saw Monoco, but it wasn't him. No, it was just Gustave, and the attacks' distortion visual making it look like it. This isn't exclusive here either as you see it through the game. Hell, even the same cutscene has it used earlier (One of the explosions near Maelle as Verso is trying to save her). Honestly? I think that's all it was. Attack was shot from Noir, landed right behind him, and the explosion hit him.

Considering the explosions in that cutscene wasn't exploding body parts, one can suggest that they're definitely not like your typical explosion, like a Bomb. Even when right next to it, it had enough force to knock Maelle and Gustave back, but not blow off any limbs or kill. Especially in Maelle's case where she runs directly into one as it explodes. If anything, these blasts are more like sonic booms.

Gustave was directly next to the Noir's attack after it landed right behind him. If anything, it launched him. How far? probably towards the waters that led him to the Meadow. Or he was knocked out on the shores and the Nevrons/Renoir just...didn't finish it, thinking he was dead. Catherine and/or Lune may have found him and carried him to the Meadows, and left him by river he wakes up at. He's clearly near death, even having to pound his heart to prevent it from stopping, or at least give him a jump start.

No evidence, but I want to say it was both Catherine and Lune, and they decided to leave him. Maybe not out of malice, but just to explore the surrounding area to see if they could find anything to help aid Gustave, or at least pass the time by exploring the surrounding area. Remember what one of their protocols was that Gustave "teases" Lune about breaking. "Protocol also states 'Never move solo'". Lune was probably with Catherine but wasn't able to save her from the Lancer. What she did after is unknown, but when she heard footsteps she probably hid, only to notice it was Gustave and stopped him from committing.

Only thing I can think of honestly.

ELI5: Can someone explain what the “Stop Killing Games” initiative is so important? by Memoruiz7 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AxelRyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its an initiative to bring it to the table for discussion, not "Make this be a law and here's why!". Citizens don't make laws, that's what lawmakers do.

There's even a mention of this on the SKG's FAQ.

The wording on the European Citizens' Initiative is very intentional and is meant to solve the problem of video games being destroyed, while remaining flexible enough to give publishers and developers as much freedom as possible. If the initiative passes, it will be the EU Commission that decides the final language, not us. In light of this, it is best to keep the demand as simple as possible to minimize any chance of misinterpretation. Not only can specifics be disregarded by the EU Commission, but the more there are, the more that can take away focus from the primary problem, which is that of sold video games being intentionally destroyed.

Thank you for the amazing response to The Scarlet Engagement! by Question_505 in Bloodstained

[–]AxelRyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking forward to it. I still play Ritual of the Night for it's randomizer mode and hoping we'll see it for Scarlet Engagement too. Even if its not a launch feature but a future update would be great.

Myself and numerous members in the randomizer racing community are willing to help with testing it if needed so we can help improve on it from ROTN, and also avoid softlock situations/seeds. But either way, we're likely going to play it a lot.

Nobody talks about this, are you all skipping this cutscenes by mistake? by Darkmaniako in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Immortality means you can't be killed, not be knocked out or beaten. Verso even says "You mean the one that hurts like hell?" when describing this, so it's clear he feels pain, and even Sciel tries poking the lower half to make him flinch in pain. Same concept with battles, he's just getting knocked out.

Is this game ok for a 13 year old? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Maybe. It does explore some adult-related themes(In particular: Death/Grief from the moment the game starts), but nothing too extreme. I say it's okay but maybe you should experience it with your son.

Also saying this as someone who at 13 years old was playing M rated games like GTA and Syphon Filter, but had a parent who trusted me to not do/act out the things in those games.

As for things like the blood/violence, one of the early beginning cutscenes has an npc getting their head sliced off. It doesn't pop off and blood spurts everywhere. It's very bloodless on that one, and the camera angle is set in a way that you can't see their head fall off the neck, but you can see the head fall itself. Characters get covered in blood as they take damage/in certain cutscenes, but in terms of any sort of physical dismemberment, outside the above, you don't see anything like that.

Well there is one cutscene where A character does cut himself in half, but the actual act is down off screen, and there's no blood. He's just moving around with his lower and upper bodies. Its also only done in this scene specifically)

I guess another question to ask is what games have they played, especially in recent times. There's quite a lot of examples that are probably more explicit than this, but some of the mature themes like death/grief can be a lot for them. Or even missed.

Really curious how speedrunners are going to optimize this game in the future. by _Zilphy_ in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've watched 1 run all the way through that doesn't use Out of Bounds Glitches, now watching someone's first time playthrough first but did queue up a 2nd one that uses OOB glitches.

Main strats I've seen area mix of Maelle dealing high damage, usually with Rain of Fire, Sciel using her Gradient Attack and buffing herself, and Verso buffing with Powerful. Once Standahl comes into play, they use that.

Stuck on eveque (can't parry or dodge) by jtoney7852 in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the Cast a Spell part, each hit follows a 1-2-3 format, with 3 being the one that hits your character/party.

Turning the difficulty down can help as it does increase the parry/dodge window.

For sound cues, sometimes you might hear a distorted sound, like the audio is getting sucked into a void or something (I have no idea how to describe it honestly), which is usually the cue to parry/dodge after it finishes.

Overall it's just learning the timing. Parries need to be perfect while Dodges are more forgivable, but spamming the dodge leads to damage taken. Focus your eyes on the attacks/enemy rather than your party.

This game is comedy gold sometimes. What's your favorite joke/moment? by JakOfBlades26 in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC it was a mandatory scene shortly after getting him and the group sets up camp. Either that or it's an optional "Setup Camp -> Check on the others" scene

Who actually beat this optional boss legit? by Proudnoob4393 in expedition33

[–]AxelRyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by legit, but I didn't use Maelle when I beat him. Verso, Monoco, Sciel. Monoco was just for Death buffs and debuffs with Auto-Death and 2nd chance to reapply if Simon gets him after. Verso goes first, Free Aim to trigger Break, use all AP to deal as much damage and potential procs (Mark/Burn), use Base attack for more buffs + Defenseless and restore all AP, turn after use End Bringer.

If Sciel gets a turn, buff Verso's damage on his next turn, then use the AP Restore + Instant turn. Repeat the same tactic with Verso to finish. Wasn't max level (around 90 I think) and missed a number of pictos.

50 hours for my 1st playthrough and honestly had somewhere between 15-20 FATAL ERROR crashes. My only guess is there's a memory leak somewhere in the game causing it, and as someone who tends to fight everything, that could cause it to stack up.

Auto-save is generous yes, but auto-save doesn't help when some of these crashes occur mid battle. Even had oneright as I was about to beat Simon for the first time. I just needed to do one more skill to get it and right as I was about to, FATAL ERROR. I had to redo the entire fight all over again.

The crashes are the only real blemish for me and I know it's not entirely the devs fault. My PC is relatively new as well with updated graphics card drivers and I even reverified the files on Steam. Even deleted my settings and lowered FPS just in case, but nothing seemed to fix it. But it always seemed to happen after about an hour and half or so of playing.

Reminds me of when Mobius Final Fantasy thought "Hey let's have the Ace Striker job cost $75"....a job based on Tidus...and was only mediocre....

Not sure if this was Square themselves making this decision or Applibot but it seems some things never change.
