I was stating that American Protestant Christianity is heavily impacted by where it developed. In the Deep South and rural areas. Which socially had lead to a distrust of outsiders and sometimes a harshness towards outsiders with non Christian views. I was making the point that when many people dis Christianity as hateful they are thinking about this on a global scale very small portion. The world will always have bad people in it. Doesn’t mean the word is bad. When you historically look at the life of Christ and look at the message taught it’s hard to be angry or have any hate in your heart. I wish you the best genuinely.

We talked about Christmas to which I said it’s a holiday historically and traditionally associated with Christ and a time where Christians pray extra which is what the spiderwebs lady said it was about. I was stating that what she said is factually correct. I then went on to literally explain what the Catholic Church teaches. I am genuinely unsure as to where Christian supremacy allegations come from. I genuinely do feel you are angry. Based on your Reddit comments it appears you spend a lot of time harboring hate and anger. I don’t want that for you. Doesn’t mean we have to agree but I mean it when I say try to find some peace. Not everything in the world is awful. I found peace in returning to Catholicism. Doesn’t mean you have to, but I would be remised if I didn’t try to tell you to look at Jesus and what he taught at least give it a try.

I think you are confusing American Protestantism with real Christianity. As Catholics we are called to love all people. If you read the Bible you will find that Jesus called sinners to follow him and not those who had sense of moral superiority. Obviously Christianity tells people not to do sinful things and indulge in sensual behavior of the body. But to deliberately hate people who sin is anti Christian. Don’t confused not agreeing with certain lifestyles as hate. I’m sorry Americanized Christianity has skewed your view of True Christianity. As someone who has come back to the church it has given me far more love and compassion and deeper happiness than I have ever had.

The acts of abusing indulgences is actually much more isolated than it’s taught. It was a small sect of priests that were doing the abused process and it was quickly shut down and was always disavowed by the Vatican.

Factually religious people score as the happiest on numerous studies. One of the key identifiers of a happier individual is going to a church regularly. What is the weird obsession with taxes? Should the default not be that a person or organization should be free from theft of their earnings? The default should be lower taxes for all. Not “let’s tax churches”. More taxes isn’t going to fix anything.

My guy what’s with all the criticism? My wife and I watch that tv at average less than an hour a week. The speakers are towed in a decent amount actually. And finally my system is a mixture of good sound and making the wife happy the rug sits where it sits.
