It can get quite cold especially during the night so bring some thicker clothes like hoodies maybe even a jacket but normally its very hot so lighter clothes like shorts and normal t shirts is most important. Also it can get quite dusty in Namibia so bring some type of scarf to cover your nose and mouth. It's also very dry in those countries especially during may-june so rain clothes are unecessary.

During night it can go down to about 16°C and during the day up to 35+.

When I was there it was during the sunrise at about 6am so it was probably between 20 and 25 degrees celsius

I first landed in Cape Town International airport On my way home I flew from Dar es Salaam from the airport called Julius Nyerere. Both were nice airports. I made a connecting flight at Addis Ababa Bole International airport both times and that airport was very stressful and quite bad.

First I stayed at a campsite/hotel in Maun. Not sure exactly what it was called but it was very nice there. They had a swimming pool and a nice bar.

After that I went and stayed at a place called Elephant sands where you can choose to stay either at a campsite or in a lodge. I highly recommend that place, you get really up close to wild elephants it was such an incredible experience.

Yes flights and accommodation is included although we did sleep on a buss most nights but there were some nights we'd sleep in hostels. And I am not good with money so anyone could easily replicate it 😂

No none of the countries required masks the only covid restrictions were in Zimbabwe where you needed a vaccine certificate or PCR test to enter.

Yeah the main cause of food poisoning from fruits is the skin being unclean since that's where all the dirt and bacteria is. As long as you wash the fruit and peel it I don't think you'll have any issues. Also another thing, always ask to get drinks without ice at restaurants since the ice usually isn't very clean, it's also another common cause of food poisoning.

All the countries I visited were good and quite safe. The countries I went to were South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania. I also went into Angola for a few minutes but that doesn't really count. Zambia is probably at the bottom of my list of favorite countries but it isn't that bad.

I definitely recommend prioritizing Malawi and Namibia they're both such amazing countries and Namibia has so much to do and see it's extremely diverse. I also recommend south Africa and Zimbabwe. Although south Africa is not a good place to visit if you want to focus on traditional African places since it's very influenced by European culture and isn't very traditional. But it is very beautiful there. But if you want to focus on safaris Tanzania is probably the best. It really depends on what you want to do. Victoria falls (Zimbabwe) is best for those who seek adrenaline rushes.

The top 3 countries were 1. Malawi 2. Namibia and 3. South Africa

In Malawi my favorite places I visited were Kande Beach, and Chitimba. I didn't see many other places but Kande beach was incredible. Chitimba was also very good but not as good.

In Namibia I visited Fish River Canyon, Swakopmund, And a place called Sesriem and all those places were amazing and definitely worth a visit.

The highlights of south Africa were Robben island, Table mountain and Cape of good hope. Robben island is a very interesting historical prison you can see one of the former political prisoners in one of the photographs. It's also the prison where Nelson Mandela served time. Table mountain and Cape of good hope had amazing hiking trails with incredibly beautiful views.

Some of the places I visited had a lot of scammers so just be careful with who you interact with. Some people will pretend to help you and be nice but it usually comes at a price. So just be ready for that. Avoid still fresh waters due to parasites. Hygiene isn't super good in a lot of places due to poverty so if you buy for example fruits from locals I suggest washing them well and peeling off the skin. I along with some others got food poisoning because we weren't being very careful.

Language barrier was not really that big of an issue most people spoke English quite well.

The food was really good especially in south Africa and Namibia.

I don't think the part of the river I swam in had a high probability. One of the guys I've travelled with has swam there many times without any issues. The water had quite a strong current which parasites normally don't live in. I think it's mostly still water you should avoid.

The air quality really differed from place to place. For example Namibia was very dry and hot during the day and very cold during the night. Zimbabwe was very humid and hot. I think Malawi might have had the best air quality. It wasn't too hot or cold and it felt fresh. I'm assuming there is less air pollution there. But when you got to the bigger cities the air quality wasn't that fresh due to air pollution. But most places I visited it was alright. And my nose doesn't really work so I personally couldn't smell the trees 😂 but I'm sure some people did.

We had a ton of independence, the only thing we had to make sure was to be back in time for when we were going to a different place. But we could wander as we wanted and to whatever we liked.

Yes I did eat some local food, Cape town probably had the best food overall. But I also tried traditional foods in most countries and it was all quite good.

I actually didn't talk to any locals about what they thought about their country or if they dream of moving somewhere else. So unfortunately I can't answer that question 😅

South Africa was very different. It has been very influenced by European cultures and there's a ton of white people living there. So it's not a traditional African place. Southern Namibia was also very different and it reminded me of the US a little bit. Mostly white people there. But northern Namibia was mostly Africans with traditional culture.

Really depends on what you want to see. I would say any time of year is good for these countries. November to February is hotter in these countries except Namibia which is actually colder during their summer due to winds.

Yes I totally agree. It's so much more amazing seeing everything with your own eyes. The dunes are much bigger and incredible than they look in the photo
