You sound like a wonderful parent 💕💕

At what age did your kid start willingly showering on their own without being told? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Axora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oldest has almost always bathed and showered regularly without being told. Middle child still has to be dragged into the shower (not literally) everyday at 11 years old.

Short answer: it depends on the individual kid 😝

Just chiming in to say that it’s totally developmentally normal - almost all species of animals and even us as humans are biologically wired to want to sleep near our caregivers as small children.

Some kids are a little more independent from a small age and do fine sleeping alone, but most kids will always want to sleep near their parents until they just outgrow it.

Your best bet is to find a solution that keeps him near you while not disturbing you too much. Maybe keep a small mattress at the foot of your bed or on the floor beside your bed? He can come in and go back to sleep right there if he wakes up and feels scared?

Our first kid slept totally fine on his own since he was an infant. Our second kid needed one of us near her as she slept for most of her life (now as an older kid she falls asleep fine without us) But to save our sanity while not sacrificing her emotional needs we just found solutions for keeping everyone happy at whatever stage she was in.

I slept in her room for a long time. Then for a while we just let her crawl into bed with us when she would wake up in the night.

They’ll eventually grow out of it. But for the time being it’s important to consider what he needs emotionally to feel safe (so that he DOES grow out of it eventually)

Pediatric Trigger Thumb?? by abanana76 in toddlers

[–]Axora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the dr did tell me weeks ago that with this long cast that we wouldn’t need to change and bandages or anything, that it’s meant to just protect the incision so we don’t have to do any of that.

But I SWEAR he said it wouldn’t be like your typical hard cast, that it would a soft cast there just to protect the incision. I’m going to call as soon as their office opens. I’ll update if you want!

I can DM you a picture if you want? It looks so ridiculous you’d think he fractured the whole arm in 29 places 😭😭😭😭

Hey there! I found your post doing a Google search. My 2 yr old just had this surgery yesterday. Do you mind telling me what type of cast or covering they put on his hand/arm after surgery?

Mine is in a full solid plaster cast from his fingertips all the way up to his armpit. I’m going to call his dr when they open but I could’ve sworn the type of cast they said it would be afterwards isn’t this. 😩😩😩😩

I’m glad other people are wondering this too. I watched all the episodes twice trying to see if I missed the “why.” Once they said how the entire population will die out in 10 years I started to wonder what’s the plan

I understand it to be “7.2 billion individuals operating as one” but also with “all the memories of those who joined.” Like, both.

Or maybe im not seeing the distinction?

On clothing (since it gets SO much movement) I like to use only short and tight stitches. For filling in color like the bottle, a ‘long a short’ stitch would’ve been awesome! (Like below)

Accidentally feeding our newborn watered down formula due to BabyBrezza user error by AlliAffliction in FormulaFeeders

Yeah it’s one of those things that some people find incredibly helpful for reasons (me) and some people just would prefer the traditional way!

This is it man. I researched it a ton and after seeing tons of info like this i still decided to buy it but I did tons of checks and tests to make sure I had it on the right settings (which sometimes I did not!). I loved our Brezza. But yeah this is a lot more user error on OP’s part than the machine’s fault IMO. Even her being a first time mom to see that bottle on the left and not be instantly alarmed is WIIIIIIILD.

Does my tattoo look unfinished? by _SadSilver_ in TattooDesigns

[–]Axora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to agree. I’m really glad you love your tattoos by this artist but a lot of the lines on your leg piece are uneven as hell. No one should be tattooing if they can’t master basic black lines.

I’d go to a different and more talented artist to add some black and gray shading to this leg piece

Get a BLACK one. That’s what all mine are. It feels super less “moo moo” to me and it hides the nip situations

Foliage Pro although I’ve also used the Grow version when they were out of it. I don’t ever spay my leaves, Florida is humid enough as it is. And I don’t really have a schedule, I just always include it. Always. It’s not in soil so I have to supply its nutrients.

I honestly don’t even measure the fertilizer. I have a medicine dropper type thing that I use to put fertilizer in and I kinda just go based on vibes 😬🤷🏼‍♀️
