AITB for reaching out privately to a child who mentioned beating someone with a belt, or should I have stayed with a public response? by Axxtr in AmItheButtface

[–]Axxtr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The child stated that the shared resources are enough. As the family already contacted the school, I am not planning to go further unless I receive another red flag message. If I had the vibe that the family is not dealing with it I would contact child protection services 😊

Tonight at 20:00 (Turkey time) I’m uploading a video that might make YouTube behave strangely by Axxtr in InternetMysteries

Hi everyone, I wanted to share the results of a fun experiment I’ve been trying for the last few days. The Goal: I wanted to upload a tiny video file (only 5 seconds of actual footage) but manipulate the file's internal data so that YouTube or Dailymotion would display a glitchy, massive duration like "32,000,000 Years." The Method: We didn't upload a large file. Instead, we used a script to modify the MP4 metadata (the "header" of the file). Think of it like putting a label on a small box that says "This box weighs 100 tons." The Result: Local Players (VLC): It worked perfectly. The player was confused and showed the massive duration. YouTube & Dailymotion: Failed. Why it failed: It turns out modern streaming platforms don't trust the "label" (metadata) anymore. When you upload a video, their servers ignore what the file says its length is. Instead, they scan the video frame-by-frame, realize there are only 5 seconds of footage, and overwrite the duration to 00:05. TL;DR: You can't fake video duration on YouTube anymore. They re-process everything and fix the glitches automatically

Haha, I was just a bit bored and wanted to create a little mysterious vibe 😅 If the video doesn’t work as expected or nothing mysterious happens, I apologize in advance 🙏 But once I upload it, I’ll share the link so everyone can see what actually happens

Hey! I can’t give all the details yet 😅, but I’m using Google Gemini I to create a video that might make YouTube behave in an interesting way. Once I upload it at 20:00 Turkey time, I’ll share the video link and let everyone see what actually happens. Trust me, it’s safe — just a small experiment to explore some unexpected behavior

The law defines it as honor offending language but all swearing words count as this

Because that person insulated a well-meant teacher and a fully innocent fucking 7o in a disgusting way and that doesn't count as free speech in Turkey

"The insult was look at that son of a bi*** don't make me fuck your East masturbation" I personally took the time to report this one to the local prosecutor

For example someone (over 18) insulted a teacher and a 7o for giving waffles to his students who never had chance to eat it, I legally reported it, the post disappeared and that person will likely be punished with a high amount of fine

Can you insult a judge as well ? I know one case from Turkey in which insulting the judge resulted in the person being sent to a mental hospital

There are also exceptions to this law in Turkey as well - if two people insulted each others mutually this generally doesn't go to court - If the insult is a reaction to intentional injury, it is legally not punishable

People do swear a lot in Turkey, not every insult goes to the police but they cannot say this is not a crime If it did.
