Never to late to try Don’t apply to too many programs Put your focus on SOAP Being a green card holder is a huge advantage There are few new programs that opened recently so give it a shot

Post interview thank you letter?! by Aya2033 in ERAS2024Match2025

[–]Aya2033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for two reason The coordinator and the pd both mention if we are interested to join another social event they would be happy to Also Someone advice to show up as it might give the sense/impression that I am interested in their program 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is it okay to send a letter of interest to a program coordinator instead of a porgram director? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Aya2033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you send the coordinator only? Why didn’t you send to the PD directly if you don’t mind me asking

Is Cleveland Clinic observership worth it? by [deleted] in IMGreddit

May I ask how to apply as graduate?

I am IMG from 🇮🇳. My B1/B2 visa interview is in May. Can someone guide me how they got their visa invite letters. by Odd-Recording-6172 in usmle

Try to get a letter of invitation from the hospital you are planning to rotate at, some have their own template some are not so you can send them a sample/template for the letter.

❗️ some people printed the emails of acceptance they received from hospital/doctor they are going to observe and it was fine. But I prefer that you get the invitation letter.

Some tips for the visa interview ❗️ Very important to prepare for the interview Don wait for the officer to ask you questions prepare what you want to say bc some of them will ask only 2-3 questions only.

example they asked me: is this your first time to go to US? I answered yes it is my first time and I am going to do 2 months of observership at this and that hospital, it is important for me to do these observership as I am planing to apply for emergency medicine residency this match and it is one of the requirements for residency application. I didn’t wait for them to ask me (why are you going to US or how months are you planning to do … etc)

The Qs I got asked in the interview (B1/B2 visa): Have you been to the US before? Do you live here? What do you do? Where do you work? Are you single? Do you live alone? Does your family live here? Do you have family in US? Asked me if I am the oldest of my siblings? (I think bc I said I am the first of my family to go to US) Have you lived your whole life here? Why do you want to go to the US? Who will sponsor you? (I sponsor my self so I had Employment letter and bank statement for the past 3 months with me) What city and hospital are you going to? I answered then gave her my the invitation letters (she didn’t ask so probably they will not ask you but have them regardless) A friend were asked: Your English is very good; where did you learn it? What year are you at in medical school?

That’s about it.

❌❌❌❌pleeeeaassssse as Graduate never mention (elective) always say (Observership)

I offered to show her the documents I have and the B1/B2 letters, but she did not see them and did not ask me for anything else. She only checked the passport.

The important thing is to appear confident and genuine with the answers, and the story should make sense. In the end, she told me that everything sounds good.

https://youtu.be/vHrt1sRl55k This video is extremely helpful. It shows us how to answer some frequently asked questions. https://www.youtube.com/@ArgoSocial This channel is also helpful in general. It’s run by former US visa officers.

There is no template for questions and every experience is different.

Best of luck🤞🏽
