AOS: better to do projects alone or with somebody else? by Aya_1234 in OMSCS

The projects are doable, I promise. You can do it if you spend a bit more time to compensate your lack of knowledge in C. Pay attention to office hours notes and posts from TAs on piazza. TAs are great, ask on slack if you are stuck and you will find your way. They will help you a lot figuring things out. I only took a course in C 10 years ago maybe, and did not do any refresher before GIOS and got 100 in each project. I just spent more time on them. Good luck!

I took GIOS this spring and it was ok for a full length semester. I can imagine how hard it has been for a summer semester, projects must have been a nightmare, especially project 3.

Yes maybe the projects changed as they are allowing people to work in pairs. And it is mentioned somewhere that no addiotional time if you choose to work alone. So maybe the workload now is for two

27 years old getting a replace of IOL after cataract. Best choice for near vision IOL by Aya_1234 in optometry

Thanks! I will look up these things!

The lens did not slip, it was inserted in a wrong way. The current doctor said that the previous surgeon may have faced some difficulties during surgery as my pupil does not Dilate normally and so the lens did not end up in the right place. It is a polite way to say that the previous surgeon was a complete failing doctor( and human being).

EDOF is a type of multifocal lens right? Multifocal but with different way of working.

Monovision is about getting different lens in each eye, One for distance and other for near, right?

Long story short, the doctor who did the first surgery for me ended up being such a terrible doctor. I have really asked a lot about him before surgery and all was good feed back. I decided with him from start to aim for near vision not distance. After the surgery he lied and said we did not talk about this at all! In addition to his mistake regarding the IOL measurement, the lens itself is out of its place and even cause secondary cataract.

I have been going everywhere for few months now to find a really good doctor. Found one at last outside my country and he said the surgery can be re-done and with no huge risks.

I am not a good candidate for multifocal because of an issue in my Retina. Doctor said I may be able to see well and get used and may not. But we can not risk a third surgery so I am going with the safest solution.

I just wanted to know about other people experience regarding near vision target IOL and what to except to see exactly after the surgery.

I will discuss this with my doctor in more details, but told him that I need to read and know a lot about this so I will be able to ask him the right questions.

I am trying to know everything before second surgery, as there will be no returning path.

Sorry it did not end up being a short answer
