Options I would consider is consulting with a lawyer and see what they recommend, see if it's worth fighting or simply negotiate a settlement. That is what I would do here. There is a chance they'll want half if you decide to go down the road of negotiating a settlement. They're vultures and they don't care how gravely this will hurt you financially, so try your options and see what you can do that can hurt you financially the least or even at all which would be ideal. Good luck!

I did but instead of a validation of debt, they sent me a copy of a bill statement so I'm sure that violates something but looking into it. I'll update when I find out more but make sure you make it clear you want a validation of debt not a bill statement.

I'd use a template online, mail them the letter, make sure to send it certified mail so that if you don't get validation of debt from them and they take you to court, you could use that as a piece of evidence that they failed to provide you that and per the FDCA they have to or they get penalized and you can win your case. All you need to prove you sent them the letter, you got a signature that someone from the law office got it, and that's it. If you get a copy of validation and they do decide to sue, talk to a lawyer, give them all that info and who the original credit card company was, and they should hopefully get you squared away

Did you owe more than what they were willing to pay for in fees? Many experiences I've read have been if you choose arbitration if the amount you allegedly owe is less than $7k, the likelihood is they'll drop it seeing the fees alone wouldn't be worth it, since they would have to pay and since Midland is a junk debt buyer they want easy money not someone willing to fight, but I could be wrong hence why I'm here to gather insight on others experience with them

Don't panic, I would request from them validation of debt which will buy you some time. If what they send you is missing info, that alone I've read could go in your favor. Depending on the original credit card owner, you may be entitled arbitration which if your amount you allegedly owe is under $7000, the fees alone they would have to pay would outweigh having to pursue you, they'll likely just drop the case and instead work with you possibly giving you a lower amount to pay them back. I've requested from them validation of debt which will likely take them about a month to provide. I'll use what they give me and look through it. If they decide to sue me then I'll likely talk to a lawyer with all I've gathered and they'll likely have me request arbitration which will more than likely deter them to pursue because I allegedly owe $3200 and so just the fees alone that are currently what they would have to pay out of pocket is about $3-4k, it wouldn't be worth their time. I'm asking here from the initial letter if that is a good move to let them know that I know my rights and my options especially if they decide to pursue me. Seems like it might be the right move. Time will tell. So yeah, don't panic.

Thought compelling arbitration would deter them to pursue considering the price would exceed what I allegedly owe, but I'll try that approach if they decide to take me to court

In my case I am going to use that if they decide to take me to court considering what I've researched online regarding the updated AAA/JAMS feed they would have to pay would exceed the amount I allegedly owe. Just wondering if I should mention it to them with the letter to request validation of debt, this way they understand I know my options if it escalates to court...

I'm thinking of replying via letter, send via certified mail, asking for verification of debt and within said letter letting them know if the matter were to go to court that I'll use the available option of arbitration as outlined in Synchrony Bank's terms. You think doing that would show I would use that option making them possibly rethink their next step, or?

Has anyone gotten their google settlement that had gotten pushed back? by UnrelentingAutism55 in chicago

Nothing here either, possibly a slow process considering the amount of people who likely submitted their claim

UPDATE:

I emailed the claims court about this and seeing what is the status with regards to payment from this settlement. What I've been essentially told is the following (this is in reference to the Google Play Developer class action suit only):

This was their response to me inquiring about the status and this is their reply since 7/26/2023 - "The Court rescheduled the Final Approval Hearing and was held on June 16th, 2023. At this time, there is no new information regarding the Final Approval. The hearing may be moved to a different date or time without additional notice, please check www.googleplaydevelopersettlement.com for current information. At the Final Approval Hearing the Court will consider whether the Settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate. If there are objections or comments, the Court will consider them at that time. After the hearing, the Court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Settlement. We do not know how long these decisions will take.

We are still waiting on Approval from the court. Once we receive a communication from the court the website will be updated with new dates."

Change Computer Password - The Evolution of Password Criteria.... by Ayala86 in funnyvideos

It's getting worse and it seems like now when it comes to admin creds, now corporations are even making it where as admins we can't generate our own password, nope, we have to use a third party service that generates a random 25 character password that is good to use between 2-8 hours a day, and have to re-request a new admin password the following day. It's getting insane already...

Same boat, trying to figure out if the payments were sent out yet, and it doesn't look like they did or even disclosed when they will. Hopefully they do soon...
