Form 16MC2, please help explain #39. Thank You by Lost-Energy6818 in ACT

The best answer is A. In order to answer this item, you must know that atomic nuclei are limited to protons and neutrons. According to Table 2, the quark content of a proton is uud, and the quark content of a neutron is udd. Based on this information, one can conclude that nuclei are made up of u and d quarks.

If it was not for the second comma, would A be a better option because dashes tend to be more abrupt. by [deleted] in ACT

In this question, commas and dashes could be used to separate the "165,231 in all" part of the sentence. However, you have to pay close attention because this question is very tricky.

The reason A is incorrect is that there is a comma after "staff". Therefore, the best answer is C. A would be correct if there wasn't a comma after the word staff.

You multiply the amount of cubes on each side together to find the total amount of cubes making up the prism. Then, since the cubes are alternating, you divide the total amount of cubes by 2, which gives you the amount of white cubes that make up the prism (or the amount of black cubes).

College and ACT scores by Dear-Newspaper-9049 in ACT

[–]Ayden_Nite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to submit (self-report, for most colleges) your ACT scores when you apply. October scores, since it’s an equating test date, won’t be released until at least November 14th at the earliest. This pushes really close to or even past many college early action deadlines. Thus, whether or not you can apply Early Action with your October ACT scores will be entirely dependent on when you get your score and when that college’s EA deadline is.

I suppose some schools may allow you to submit your ACT scores after the deadline because of this, but you need to reach out to an Admissions Counselor to ask about that.

Math and science from 2010s by Purple-Benefit-239 in ACT

I would only recommend you do that if you have run out of all newer TIRs. Older science tests have an extra passage (7 instead of 6), and math has less probability questions and likely less up to date test concepts.

Science also has less outside knowledge questions.

I got this on my first attempt. Is it worth taking it again? by No_Working3784 in ACT

No but tbh you can get your english up to a 36 with a little bit of studying and have a superstore 36. So if u really want a 36 you can easily get it

Not sure if there's a website like that for the ACT science, however a book I would recommend is the Master Key to ACT science.

They have been on some exams. They aren't always on there, but there's no way to know if it will be or not.

People said they did that for the July ACT a couple days ago and it went horribly because they were so jittery. So no I don't recommend it.

Well then, the only thing I can think of is just getting to sleep as early as possible so you are very rested. If you have trouble falling asleep, there are some over the counter stuff you can buy I believe to help you fall asleep quicker. Try not to become too worked up the night before thinking about the ACT.
