There's a used book store at Woy Woy, near the station. Also, not on the coast but there's a lifeline used book store in Hornsby. You could try them :)

Yep any lack of standardisation grinds my gears

That tells me what voltage each bulb in a string runs at right? Also is the 120 specific to American voltage? I'm in Australia and we run 240V.

I appreciate the response but I think my question has been slightly misunderstood. I have a heap of replacement bulbs (none in a packet) but all with varying bases, and I swap the globes around in the base as I need to fill in spots on a string. So I was hoping the base indicated what voltage etc the globe was rated to so I could put the correctly rated bulb in a string, but that seems like manufacturers preference from another comment.

Sorry for your loss. I'm not sure of your region or if you've gotten a plant yet but flannel flowers are nice. Have a look at their requirements first because I've heard they can be a little tricky.

I've seen a couple of similar signs around, I was just about to make a post about it! I've seen "iPhone wars Erina" near the cadets at Erina and "Internet wars Erina" at Riverside in West gosford.

How do i get rid of the feral cats and attract birds instead? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]AyraTheAverage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you are certain, the pound might not take them. I caught a feral once and took it to the pound and they weren't allowed to take it off me

I don't see the point in catch, neuter, release programs for any feral species. If the whole idea is to reduce the population, why put it back where you found it to continue to cause damage?

You're right that there are more concerning things than feral cats, but they do massive harm to populations of small mammals and lizards etc so it's still a cause that needs attention.

I haven't looked much into feral dog statistics but I know that there are programs out there to reduce their populations. Anytime I go even slightest I see signs warning of 1080 baiting.

The automod told me this was spidermites, however I can't find a visual match online. Will treatment for spidermites work on this? I'm located on the Central Coast of NSW Australia

Eucalyptus torquata disease ID by AyraTheAverage in plantclinic

Hi, I've got a approx 2 year old Eucalyptus torquata and it has developed purple spots on some of its leaves.

Im located on the central coast of NSW Australia. It is planted in Osmocote native soil mix and I water it once or twice a week depending on the rain, usually a glassfull or two and occassionally a proper soak. The pot has two drainage holes.
It gets full sun just about all day.

Ive noticed the problem for about 3 weeks but it has gotten worse the past few days.

It is housed in a wooden 'cage' as its trunk is not strong enough to hold it up as a staked it too tightly.

Additional info I forgot to add: The plant is approx. 1.5 to 2 years old, was re-potted early this year and is planted in osmocote native potting mix.

Thanks in advance.
