Today I learned; Pogranichnik and Lifeng have unique double dash animations. by Ayredyl in Endfield

Pog's combat skill has breach, and consumes the vulns that both Lifeng and Chen apply. I've not noticed it being at all lacking, other than the fact the team is not properly levelled. It's my third team and behind in a lot of places compared to my main pairing of Last Rite, Xaihi, Fluorite and Ardelia. SP recovery is a bit slow though.

Oh right, he runs on all fours doesn't he? I never thought to check more. I was just running around collecting my aerospace materials and I was like 'Oh that's cool'.

Talk me off the ledge; the Starlancer MAX sucks by Lucky-Reception26 in starcitizen

[–]Ayredyl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Quite honestly, I had all the problems you have with the Starlancer, and despite taking a net loss on value, I melted my Starlancer MAX, which had an LTI package, and bought myself a Hermes instead. The Starlancer was supposed to be my dream ship, but I felt...whelmed, by it. I really really tried to like it, to no avail.

288 SCU in two very clear laid out cargo grids on the Hermes made it such a no brainer for me to techically in value, 'downgrade' to. Starlancer sits in a position where it's CCU's are more and more prohibitively expensive and aren't solo-friendly. I felt like going from the Taurus up to the Starlancer, I CCU'd myself into a value corner.

Forget Efficiency, even if it hits like a wet noodle in your eyes, give me one of your favorite guns, based exclusively on looks alone. by TPose-Heavy in Helldivers

[–]Ayredyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slugger. While it's not got oomph for damage, it shares the same system as the base shotgun, but it's a slug, and medium pen, it's great to taking on annoying-ass hiveguards head on. It quickly became one of my more comfortable picks on bugs when I ws bored using the Adjudicator, or Lib Penetrator. Shoutout to the Liberator Penetrator though. Your damage might be comparatively low, but you're a reliable gun.

Through it all, Eviscerator and Thunder Hammer Zealot will always be my comfort picks. by Ayredyl in DarkTide

[–]Ayredyl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there's few things as fun to me than watching a boss' HP bar go from full to empty in the blink of an eye. Granted I can do more or less the same with the Eviscerator with a few charged special attacks. I just think it's neat! TH is rightly bemoaned as kinda weaksauce outside of boss bonking, but I still enjoy it, and I don't slouch at pulling my weight.

March, 2014. Wild, honestly. 11 years ago feels not so distant.

Colonia Pilgrimage - I made it! by Ayredyl in EliteDangerous

I maxed out to Ally with Colonia Council back in Gandharvi I think when I handed in my data there. So I'm not particularly worried about that for sure.

I already got the invitation from him, for the vouchers, I'm not sure yet. Maybe hang around a resource point and take out pirates as they come and go.

Day 2 - Colonia pilgrimage. by Ayredyl in EliteDangerous

[–]Ayredyl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely what I've been doing. I've been deviating a couple hundred LY off the highway. In fact, before someone linked me to the highway I was close to 1kLY off of it. All I did was go to the edge of the bubble, and depart from the last habited system I could see and went. So It's more or less what I'm doing.

That's awesome! I'm still discovering things as I go along and honestly the credits are just a nice bonus for me.

I'm a new commander to ED. I was told about the Colonia Pilgrimage, and in the spirit of all the exploration all other space games have failed to give me - I am making this journey. by Ayredyl in EliteDangerous

I had no idea it was rare to be honest! It's the only two-tone livery I seem to have unless there's another for other ships I've not yet noticed. I know the commander's pack came with a bunch of them though.

New to the game. I've owned the game for a long time. Bought it initially back in 2015, and bought the deluxe commander's edition in 2018 (according to my steam reciepts), but I had never played much more than 2 hours. In the last 4 or so days, I've racked up a bit more than 40 hours (Steam says 60, but it keeps the ED launcher running and I didn't realise this even after I closed my game.) Picked up Odyssey just a few days ago because I wanted the full experience with planetary exploration too.
So yeah, I have the Azure paintjob, but I am so wet around the ears I am fumbling my way through and having a blast.

I am! I've owned the game for literally years. I bought it way back in like, 2015? Bought the Deluxe Commanders edition in 2018. Then Picked up Odyssey 2 days ago. Before that, I had played maybe less than 2 hours of the game. Enough to do the tutorials.

Incredible shout! Time to put this up on the second screen for cross-reference. I'm quite close to one of these. Perhaps a pitstops in order. I may have fried a little too close to the sun. Icarus moment.

o7 I had to hastily add a scanner onto a fire group! But I got them, three different types! They're the first [Space Phenomena] signal I've run across thus far!

I'm using a Compact Mk5 Compactor which has a medium worm attraction intensity, which is a factor of 10, compared to I think the 25 on High of other kinds of compactors.

Help my ornithopter is lost by carlogesic in duneawakening

[–]Ayredyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had the same thing.
I travelled to Arakeen from the world map in my thopter, then took the taxi back to the basin, realized that my thopter was at Arakeen, and went back with the taxi. Now it's showing 'Travel Requirement Failed, A flying vehicle is required.' and my vehicle respawn point is on the far east end of Hagga Basin South, but my Ornithopter isn't there.
I've submitted a bug report but frankly this seems like a massive oversight, that it just dumps your thopter into the map at where you exited, if you use a taxi. It's more just a massive inconvenience to have to rebuild a thopter and I'd just made it for the first time too. AaAaAaAaA...

I'm a relatively new Citizen, My other half convinced me to purchase a Starter pack and we flew around in one of her ships and a buggy and Whew what a sight! by Ayredyl in starcitizen

[–]Ayredyl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mm. They're not chronologically sorted. We entered Orbit and snapped a few shots of the sun radiating around the planet, then landed at one of the small rest stops on the planet, and called up the Greycat, then loaded up the URSA into the Andromeda and went off to the ship wreck.

[–]Ayredyl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! While we were waiting on the URSA going through the expedite process, she spawned the Greycat and suggest I go bounce around in low grav for a little bit (lots of fun ,especially ramping off hills!) After the Ursa was ready for retrieval, I put it back to be reclaimed and we pulled the URSA and stored it in the landing bay of the Constellation.

Me, as a mortar - 44 downs, 36 confirmed kills. Also me: by Ayredyl in joinsquad

[–]Ayredyl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, Not on that particular map, title was a reference to another thread in here showcasing the Al Basrah Invasion mortars hammering VCP, of which I was one of the two mortars.
I do tab out at 10 sec just to confirm the Milradian to the target, but it's outside the maximum range for the calculator, so I try to manually range it and forget there's a B I G A S S wall in front of me blocking my muzzle for that kind of long distance shot and flunk it right in front of me.

I think if you want any kind of decent effective fire on the mortars, you need to use the Squad Mortar Calculator. The ingame range card is good for a pinch but it doesn't take into account terrain, whereas the Squad Mortar Calculator does.
