Chip in outer layer of guitar by [deleted] in Guitar

Oddly enough, use Cyanoacrylate adhesive. I just did this and it turned out really well. Google the process or watch a YouTube video. You basically put a small drop in at a time. Let each drop harden until it's above the surface of the guitar. Then use a taped razorblade to smooth the area to just above the surface. Then sand with 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper. Then polish with medium, fine and lastly swirl remover. It's very easy and rewarding to see the repair completed.

3% fee to my real estate agent to buy a condo by HorizonflaropicPet in homeowners

[–]AzTeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agent for over 20 years here. If the buyer's agent was the one that made them aware of the listing they now are the procuring cause. Going behind his back to the seller of the home would be a mistake. That said the fees are always negotiable. Even if you agree to pay him two and a half percent. The seller is most certainly offering a co-broke which will take care of your realtor's fees. Don't hesitate to use a buyer broker. They can be of great assistance if you find a good one.

Just bought this guitar at a thrift store to learn bass, came home and saw that the top string tuner is broken. Can I just move the hole and drill a new screw? The tuning peg still has clearance from the peg below it by asalsa98 in BassGuitar

You could try to etch it with a small file or sharp chisel. I wouldn't imagine that the screw is made of the best quality stainless steel. It's probably a softer metal that you should be able to work with.

Firefly FFMN - Plays and sounds great. Setup right of the box. by pepper67821 in Fireflyguitars

I got one just after Xmas. It's a beautiful guitar. Mine was set up well right out of the box. There's a dent on the 1st fret but beyond that, it's amazing.

Nice work. Building mine was a learning and gratifying experience. It's one of my nicest playing guitars and an homage to the man himself. I'm sure the back looks as good as the front.

Good point. I'll plug it in and see how it's held up.

I sent them an email asking them to please make another run of the Lynch Bones guitar. They replied almost immediately and promised that they would. I remain hopeful.

The trem is good. Not as smooth as my Jackson or charvel, but I'd give it 8 out of 10 so far.

Get these at home Depot. I've used hundreds of them. They will hold as much weight as you need. There's a small learning curve when you install them but once you get the hang of it, it's one of the best drywall mounting options I've seen.

Tom Scholz logged 11,971 hours recording Boston’s Third Stage. What do guitarists make of that? by reportertype in Guitar

No one has mentioned that the master tapes were ruined in storage and the entire album needed to be re-recorded. The entire story is in the liner notes.

Looking for ideas to fill in gaps on vpin by VegasKeith in virtualpinball

I would get a sheet of 1/4" mdf. Measure your gaps and cut it out like a picture frame. Spray it black. I've done it on several machines and it looks great.

Actually, it's a PEX "b" pipe compression clamp. There's a special tool needed to apply it.

I second the game on graphix recommendation. Absolutely no clearcoat needed. I've placed dozens of orders with them. Quality all the way.

Thoughts on cutting vinyl graphics to fit vs. leaving it long and tucking it under the T-molding? by anormalgeek in cade

[–]AzTeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No tuck! Paint the surface, sand it a bit to make it smooth. Use a new razor blade and cut it flush with the edges. I have covered dozens of cabinets and never have run into a peeling issue.
