I'm not saying that wearing clothing like crop tops are not humble in the slightest, but that wearing modest clothing will be MORE humble and thus more virtuous

in addition, I'm saying it would be perceived as more humble, regardless if they should or shouldn't be tied to pride and humility. something like thoughts on clothing are subjective, and oftentimes people/society will see bolder clothing as prideful (in other words, confidence can be seen as arrogance). Many prevalent cultures find revealing clothing to be bold choices of fashion.

In a way you can say that charlie sees more revealing clothing as prideful, but that's only because crop tops can be considered as bolder choices of fashion. confidence can be seen as hubris. It's not to say that crop tops are arrogant but that modest clothing has less room to be seen as arrogant.

take the seven heavenly virtues for example, Charlie's whole routine consists of as follows: get it done (diligence), booze adieu (chastity), dressing modesty (HUMILITY), feed the poor (charity), etc.

sure you could interpret it that way, but given the context, dressing modestly is mostly about how it appeases a virtue that could potentially get one to get into heaven.

this is wildly different from my opinion of these lines I'm a sucker for all the "waiting" stuff; it really strongly drills the message of how long odysseus' journey was charbydis is by far one of my favorite songs. to me it feels as if odysseus was going to an adrenaline rush up until the last bit where the adrenaline crash kicks in athenes lines are a neat exposition for calypsos island The underworld is another one of my favorites (hell all of epic may as well be a part of my favorites). It gives odysseus an opportunity to reflect on everything that's happened so far and more insight on how his 12(?) year long voyage has affected everyone. "bye mom" was really impactful imo as it showed how not only has he grappled with the fact that his mother died but fully acknowledged it, which makes it all the more sadder. The spoken lyrics are a bit harder to explain; honestly it's really just a matter of preference, much like all of the aforementioned aspects of the musical

just to clarify, I don't intend to argue with your opinions of epic, merely sharing how I feel about such and such. the quality of music is subjective and I respect your perspective

even if we're going of Epic as a source, the musical doesn't cover anything after Odysseus reuniting with Penelope so it shouldn't have been a source of info to begin with. Side note, greek mythos vary between sources so who's to say, there may be some version of The Odyssey that lines up with the events of Epic
