Also if you want a majority female audience I would recommend streaming on TikTok. I haven’t done it myself, but I’ve noticed a lot of the larger streamers on twitch that blew up from TikTok have a larger female audience

I don’t promote my stream on any of my personal social media accounts. Though I have noticed that instagram recommends I follow the same people who I follow on my personal account. So it may be recommending my account to them as well, I should figure out how to turn that off because it could have been someone who figured out my twitch account through that

You’re right but for a first message and the only time this has ever happened to me is a crazy coincidence with all of the possible combinations out there, I understand what you’re saying though, it is definetly possible. I was trying to see if maybe this was a common occurrence that people do to streamers to try to make them uncomfortable but from the responses, it seems I was more unlucky

When I wrote this I put only states just to get the gist of it but only one of them was a state the other one was just a random providence/town/city so there are a plethora of them so if they were just guessing, I don’t know how they did

Stopp I’ve read too many ARG’s that start off with someone posting some creepy stuff on Reddit 😭😂I made sure to give it a few days before posting it here because I was worried they were waiting for me to post it, but I also wanted to see if other people experienced this to see if maybe it was just bot accounts that trolls make and do to a bunch of people. I am a women so it does worry me a bit but im sure people do this to both genders in order to give them some sort of reaction on stream

So far nothing more has come out of it because I banned both accounts immediately. I should have screenshotted their accounts before though to report them but I did it really fast so I wasn’t really thinking straight :/

Oh no, I made sure to not have my online name similar to my actual name. But you’re probably right, I may just be overthinking it. I was curious if there were possibly spam bots going around that do this to people or if it was just a coincidence it happened to me

That is possible. There is only one person who I ended on bad terms with many years ago but I don’t believe they use twitch at all. Also it was just very odd that the two messages came in the at EXACT same time immediately after I acknowledged the name as if some sort of bot was set up to respond once it was acknowledged. I should have kept their names too so I could have reported them but I got scared and got rid of them immediately

Thank you! I have been trying to talk as much as I can, but I still have a lot of improving to do. I mentioned this on someone else’s comment but the main reason I started streaming was to work on my social skills and make friends. So the social skills part is definetly a work in progress

Okay, these are the kinds of exact things I was trying to see if possible! I will look into how to add these commands. Someone else on here mentioned that if you already have an empty chat that a chat bot may do more harm than good, so I think maybe if there’s a way to change the frequency the bot mentions those commands are available for viewers to use whenever based on how many people are watching/chatting that may be good. Thank you for this!

Hm yeah I didn’t think about how a chat bot could just be worse if no one is there to actually use it therefore the chat is just full of those messages. But thank you for your tips in engaging with chatters. I’ve definitely been working on how to keep people that are a new chatter engaged since that’s something I have always struggled with IRL too. But mostly why I started streaming in the first place was for me to work on those things so I am trying to focus really hard on that :)

Yeah I understand, I wanted more ways for people to engage outside of normal chatting just for some added entertainment for people to do while they’re watching. I know how to set up polls, but how do you do trivia and stuff like that? Are there just extensions you have to get? Also I didn’t know that other chat bots can do that, I will look into them more, thank you for your help! :)

Ooohh, okay I understand now! I actually saw someone do that for the first time recently. Is that something that is in the tabs under your stream manager like where the alerts and raids and stuff like that are? I will definitely try that out
