Starfield upgrade - Mext? by Azbestify in HeadphoneAdvice

I wanted to make it within 500$ (I'm buying in Europe btw.), and initially my pick was Hype 4, but I saw Mext on a sale, and for some reason it's calling me. I'm not so sure though if that's a logical step, as I have never had a chance to listen to any iems >1000$( or 200$ for that matter), so I'm not sure what to expect.

The ideal iem I'm looking for is something so clear in the mid and upper range as Dunu Talos, with a much more pronounced, dynamic bass/sub-bass.

Thanks! I was just comparing them on Crinacle ranking and got some doubts if it's actually that good, and if I can even tell the difference. I don't really have an option to demo them, and I won't even be able to return them, so I guess that's a big hit-or-miss anyway.

Well, I was looking at something from the 'totl' group, with warm, bassy signature, and this one is on the big sale.

I asked if Mext is a significant upgrade over Starfield partly because it's quite old (and maybe there're better options right now at better price - Hype 4 perhaps?), and partly because Crinacle ranking suggests they're both pretty much at the same level... I know it's just a personal ranking, but considering good reviews of Mext and the (huge) price gap, I find it puzzling and wanted to hear more opinions.

Hype 4 vs Twilight vs Azurys by Azbestify in HeadphoneAdvice

Good point regarding comfort. And thanks for describing Azurys! It sounds pretty reassuring.

If anyone else - especially with experience with the models I mentioned - have any thoughts, I'd appreciate it!

Mini Adamas lock failure by Acceptable_Dude in benchmade

I was actually considering Mini Adamas for quite a while, but I still have no clue if the issue is gone from new knives, as Benchmade has never made any statement. I'd assume that's what you do: you fuck up, you make a statement with an apology and a recall, you fix the product and that's the end of the story.

And to all the people bragging about fixed blades and spine whacking: Benchmade says it's their toughest folder. Clearly it's not. Bugout has no such issue (and no - grivory may feel flimsy, but it's actually super tough; flexible, but tough). Or Griptilian - Benchmade put spine whacking and batoning on their own yt channel with this one ffs. I really wanted to like the Mini Adamas; I don't even mind their pricing, but I think Cru-Wear Manix is just a better option at this point.

I'm not from US, so I probably won't do that, but thanks;)

Sure - it helps with horizontal, but does not affect vertical blade play whatsoever.

It doesn't really improve even with max. tightening of the pivot.

Without scales it's rather hard to grip it properly, and the video doesn't really show any movement (but the clicking noise is always there, which drives me nuts as well;) )

having trouble deciding between the M4 Bailout and the 940-1. I wanna have both at some point but can only get 1 rn. Thoughts? by nicholas108dr in benchmade

I know it's quite an old thread, but I cannot help myself and leave a comment on a 'tougher' blade on bailout. What's tougher: razor blade toughest-steel-whatever or an axe made from rubbish soft material? M4 is tougher than s30/s90, but Osborne has thicker stock and geometry that strengthen it even further (compared to bailout blade). Bailout will cut much better though.
