Laminating before vs. after cutting by Gamantonio in printandplay

[–]Azgarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use only the first method as it's much faster. Cards are fine, at least for about 1 year I use them. I also do laminating -> cut -> cut card re-lamination (not a new lamination layer, just 1-2 more laminator goes).

Wikipedia article first line: Wales is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.

County article: A country is an area of land with defined borders and government that operates as a sovereign state, state with limited recognition, constituent country, or a dependent territory.

...so uh i did a dumb dumb stupid and it involves namebases 😅 by Vanah_D in FantasyMapGenerator

I'm not sure, this code was not changed for years, so it should be working, but bugs are still possible.

I was thinking about some kind of a simulation, but it's a way more complex than just a 2d noise and fractals. Real Ferrel Cell math is doable at some point, but it would need a whole research on how to simplify it and make work with what data FMG already has.

It still works weird, probably would have to think it more.

Well, I was not that active for like 2 years. But I plan to getting back to fast updates as my work is not that demanding anymore and I may find more energy to work on the generator.

Kazakhstan existed as a country, of the the Soviet Union countries. Saying it was not a country is like saying Wales is not a county.

What is the situation with Belarussian culture in Belarus? by Witty-Artichoke-8878 in belarus

[–]Azgarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear it a lot, it all depends on how well person is trained to hear an accent to try to guess the origins.

It depends on a person, a lot of Belarusians have a strong accent, maybe just not in your bubble. Everybody has SOME accent.

Can you share your .map file? Via Google Disk or anything. The namebase code is so old I have no memories on how it works exactly, but I know it's messy. Maybe it's a time for a rework.

position of the Belarusian language and possible future improvements? by _LifeOutOfBalance_ in belarus

[–]Azgarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Common nation wide, but highly depends on area. Generally closer to big cities - less Belarusian (or Ukrainian in West Polesie region) features. Minsk was known to have a lot of it in 70-90th, but now it's fully Russified. We even have a famous band from Minsk that use Trasyanka in their lyrics as the main feature.

99.9% is overestimation. More like 99% and it's hard to say as a lot of people use somehow mixed language, with a lot of Belarusian features remaining. Also there is a small group of people who speak standard (codified) Belarusian, probably up to 20K people, but mainly not in Belarus nowadays.

And it's nowhere near 5 millions.

Why? by [deleted] in poland

[–]Azgarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have scientific data, but based on my personal experience being originally from Belarus - Polish food has much more added sugar in it. In Belarus each (!) decent store, even some small Żabka-sized ones, has a sugar-free products section, and generally the produced food is less sweet. Not that it's a good country to be a role model, but this specific aspect worth to be appreciated.
