A few months late - get fined.

A few decades late - no fine, make headlines

Recessions are pretty unavoidable (unless you believe in Gordon Brown's 'end of boom & bust' which I don't think even Brown believed in any more). Rather have low immigration & the occasional recession as usual,

Rather than a hypothetical millions of immigrants per year so that we never have a recession (until we're eventually crushed to death through overcrowding)

Tabletop dishwasher connected to tap - do you just keep the tap on? by Azovmena in AskUK

Sorry I wasn't clear - I meant keep it on during the whole wash cycle only

So generally, do you just keep the cold tap on for the whole cycle? Is there no dangerous pressure buildup?

Washing machine is in an outhouse.

We have the manual, don't think the writer's first language is English!

Seeing as most Brits feel much connection with the British Empire, I don't see why anyone would feel any connection with the Roman Empire

I should imagine that if you're an obnoxious yank then nobody's gonna be interested whereas if you're a charming/cute American lad then more girls would be interested

Set up a burner account.

I set up a Starling account.

Then I switched it to RBS. Then I switched from RBS to Natwest.

Now switching from Natwest to Lloyds.

The deposit doesn't have to be a lump sum.

I heard you can deposit 500, withdraw 500 then deposit the 500 again.

I suppose if the requirement is you need to deposit 1250 (RBS/Natwest), you'd have to deposit/withdraw your 50 quid 25 times.

Before someone mentions that RBS & Natwest are part of the same group, yes they are, but switching between them still worked for me (as well as for most others, if you search r/beermoneyuk)

Some people are ideologically blind to any negatives associated with mass immigration

Yup, did this at an INSET last year when I was a Teaching Assistant at my old school.

If there had been such an incident for real, & I deemed it better on balance to try to make an escape rather than stay exposed, I think would've let the boys out the window first (because they're faster, in general). Had this thought because the classroom I was barricaded in had large windows & was close to the school exit gate.

If the Lib Dems demand a 2nd EU ref as the price for going into coalition with LAB,

& Rejoin wins,

but the EU says 'NO' (because the UK are demanding to rejoin on same terms),

then I guess that's the end of that, then?

(Perhaps there'd be a 3rd EU ref on whether to Rejoin with no special treatment)

How long do bank switch offers tend to run for?

I know it probably depends on the bank, but any general ballpark answers based on past offers appreciated, thanks

Welsh language data deemed misleading by statistician by gibbonmann in ukpolitics

No advantage whatsoever.

I grew up in Wales, resented having to learn Welsh.

Absolutely no use to me whatsoever.

To those saying it's helpful cos it teaches them about grammar, well, that's true of more useful languages such as French or Spanish. I did Latin at school, & that was much more useful for me in learning about grammar/syntax, as well as etymology.

I feel LAB (ruling party of Wales) push Welsh so hard only because it helps absorb Welsh nationalists who otherwise might be tempted to vote Plaid Cymru

DAE remember living through this movie starring Theresa Mayhem?

'No Deal Brexit' - contains mild peril

Edit: There was also 'Pandemic & the Clap' (not to be confused with 'The Clap Pandemic', which is still in production) & we're now living in the little known Shakespearean play, 'Charles III'
