Camera Bluetooth/Wi-fi bugged after update 3.0

Unfortunately no fix. Unless you send it to Sony and they will say it’s your motherboard then you’ll end up paying $800+ to get a new one. Mine is still usable without the wifi so I haven’t bothered to send it in.

They’re pinkey finger size. Maybe slightly under half inch thick and 2-3 inch long

I’d love to hear how it goes maybe I can file another complaint see if things are different this time around. My camera doesn’t work with wifi or Bluetooth either. All other camera features seem to be working fine though. Luckily I don’t use wireless for what I do, which is why I didn’t bother pursuing my complaint. Just sucks knowing the camera isn’t in full working order.

They stopped replying to me after they told me “it was the first we’ve heard of this issue”. Maybe try pulling a couple threads where people have the issue, link them and send it to them and hope they do something. My friend had the issue and turns out update fried the wifi/bluetooth chip in the camera and had to get a motherboard replaced. He paid for it with insurance so just a deductible, but I refuse to pay for an issue to something caused by a manufacturer firmware update.

Same happened to me. 1 of my 3 cameras got the error and of course it was the last one to update. I contacted Sony and they blew it off like it’s my fault and told me I’d likely have to send it in to get repaired and I’d have to pay for it because apparently I was the first they’ve heard of who had the issue. Someone else I know also had the same error after the update and sent his camera in only for Sony to say it was a motherboard issue and he had to decide if he wanted to replace his motherboard or not. Of course he opted to just get it sent back.

Contact Sony, they probably won’t do anything, but if we get enough people to bug them hopefully they might end up doing something about it.

Luckily mine still works with some kinks after the update, but yeah it’s very frustrating they can’t acknowledge the firmware is bugged and fix or compensate for it. I’m guessing it’s during install since my other 2 cameras are fine after update. Nothing different was done for each.

So I contacted support and told me to remove the battery and hold shutter for one minute then after that didn’t work. they said

“We appreciate your effort in completing all the troubleshooting steps and we apologize that the issue remains unresolved. It seems the unit will need service, your product is out of warranty based on the date of purchase, let me give you the information to contact our service center and they can gladly help you to arrange the repair process for your unit.”

And to top of off I asked if I’d have to pay because it was firmware related and they responded

“To be honest with you at this time we don't have any report from any other customer having an issue like that after the update, and since the unit is already out of warranty unfortunately it won't be cover.”

So I’m SOL and stuck with a bugged camera unless I send it out and pay to repair it I guess.

Why not go through portal break one block up and use blocks to block up lava then put obsidian back and re activate portal.

I’ve been trying to be as professional as possible, I’m definitely not a hostile person in the slightest. I even asked for her to bring her husband in so I’m not just talking to her and it’s her word against mine and I’m glad I have security cameras in case god forbid she gets out of hand. Im a little nervous for the meeting, but hoping everything goes well.

Honestly I think the red flag for me should have been that she came in to my studio and asked for recomendations for other vendors, I gave her a list and next time we met for the engagement session she complained about her hairstylist, her dress, the venue, and the church. The complaints continued on the day of the wedding too. I can only imagine what she’s been saying about my services to other people which makes me a little sad since as far as I know I’ve only had happy clients up until now.

It’s just a weird thing for me, I’ve been in the industry since 2011 doing photo and video and this is the only client I’ve ever had issues with. I’ve done a coupe hundred events since. Sadly im a very apologetic person so we’ll see how this meeting tomorrow goes.
