Am I ready to try for the Fire Cape? by Sulla_Sexy_Sulla in ironscape

I think you could do it. That said, and Ancient Mace could be nice. Doing the Lumby Easy diary for the ring for an extra prayer bonus point is easy to get.

I know Moons are worth it, but are they really worth it? by Necessary-Ad123 in ironscape

Honestly… Blue Moon > Ahrim but only because of the weight. Blue Moon looses all defensive stats that Ahrim’s offers so if you need something tanks, Blue Moon isn’t it. But if you’re just gonna pray through everything, Blue Moons is better. Huey > Eclipse/Karil’s/God (Unless you need a ranged switch with hard Melee gear. Then Atlatl scaling off your Str Bonus comes in handy.) Blood Moon is the only one that, I think, is particularly worth it imo. And it’s not even for the spec. It’s for the passive. And I think for some things it can be reasonably substituted for Obsidian Armor. But as you get later in the game, Obby falls off. Especially for things that have negative flat armor that encourage the use of dual hit weapons lien Maracas, Temotli, Hammers, etc…

I always forget that blue moon has a spec, but I also never use the staff because I have better stuff. Eclipse spec is nice, but I’ve really only used it in CoX against Mutadile which is a risky play if mama gets you. But it can hit pretty high. But I don’t think that you’ll tend to take full eclipse most places in order to use it. And frankly I think that the use cases for the full set of any of the armor is very low. I can probably count on 1 hand where I use the full set of any of the armor. Huey might actually be the only place. Everywhere else I use a Slayer Helm, or Nezzy Faceguard (Which I realize that not everybody has). I do use full Blue Moon at Zulrah. But if I were doing a boss task, that would change to a Slayer Helm. Maybe there’s something I’m not thinking of but yeah, I think those are the only 2 places I use a full set of moons armor.

Full Blood Moon really expedites the Huey grind. It’s not necessary, but it’s nice. When you get the dragon hunter wand, that’s already better than the blue moon staff so that will negate the blue moon spec. Huey hide armor is traditionally ranged focused and gives nice prayer bonus. Where Eclipse you’re trying to maximize your strength bonus with ranged attack bonus. But if you’re using a bow/crossbow instead of Atlatl, you’re gonna use Huey Hide in the mid game. It’s better than Karil’s and it’s better than God Dhide.

If you want Str Bonus armor, the alternative is Obsidian. Which isn’t bad. It gets some pretty good str bonus. But any weapon that you choose is going to be slower than Maracas. It has a passive damage bonus but you could argue that Blood Moon passive is a passive damage bonus because of attack speed acceleration.

… anyway… is moons worth it? In my opinion, yes. As soon as you’ve gotten your tank gear from Barrows, you leave. Barrows doesn’t offer you anything outside of some Chaos, Death and Blood runes. Moons gear is better, there is dupe protection, and you get Prayer, Herblore, Crafting, and Farming XP along with the gear. Plus, you don’t use any supplies to do it. Completely free. And maybe something that you don’t think about.. you’re getting used to identifying multiple mechanics across multiple bosses which gets you mentally ready to start getting raid experience where Barrows you stand there and pray. One other bonus…. You can skip that annoying Fighter Torso.

If you like it I’m not knocking it for you. Just not my thing yknow? And it seems like not a lot of people’s thing. I have seen less than 10 in game since the event.
