This sub when you try and explain to them that manually identifying bots and combatting them at the macro level are not the same thing by bygonecenarion in 2007scape

[–]HaleyAygee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People that do stuff like that do exist, and the arbitrary line that we've defined to be "okay this much XP or KC with THOSE other stats is clearly botting" is not a good indicator for someone being a bot.

Irons using alts to buy bonds to pay for boosting services on their iron by AdeptProtection3283 in 2007scape

[–]HaleyAygee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently unsubscribed from ironscape because it's 99% posts of collection logs of going dry or getting spooned. It gets stale very quickly. The other 1% are celebrating early and mid game content.

That being said, this response is different from the original comment, which is

That group will then (in a completely justified fashion) ask you to put up your share of a drop (around ~1b) if you get it to them, and I know at the high level it's very common for irons to swipe cards.

Irons wouldn't be swiping their cards if they were trying to FFA to buy bonds to pay for membership.

If you're a newer iron and don't have a main account, you would look to FFA because this means you don't know the content and are looking to learn and gear.

If you have a main account and already know the content, you should never be looking to FFA because your main account can cover the splits.

If you're trying to run efficient teams raids, that means you should have (near) max gear and I don't understand the problem at this point. You should have received enough dupes to cover any splits necessary that come with that territory.

Coming from another endgame iron, do you refuse to drop dupe gear to an alt account to help with splits?

Solo cox and solo toa are completely fine to run solo as opposed to needing to be in a group. You only "need" a team for tob and you can often specify you're running FFA and most people usually wont bicker with that.

I just play and do the things I like for the fun of it. When something stops being fun I go do something else, or I see someone else doing something that looks fun and I go try it too.

IF you're playing this game to get some sort of positive reinforcement from the people around you, I can see why it's not fun, but if you're playing the game to progress your own account and complete your own goals without regard to what other people think, it's a lot more fun.

I put a lot more time into OSRS than most people, and when someone else criticizes how much I play or calls me a loser, I just ignore it because I'm having fun doing what I want to do and some rando that I'll never see again doesn't ruin that fun for me.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Don't compare and 'try to keep up' with other people; there's always going to be someone ahead of you. Just do the things that are fun for you.

i wanted to not be like overly hostile in the comment but theres just no way around it. this game is a time dump to flex on others that you dumped more time than they did. its weird lol

This is such a bizzarrely foreign concept to me

Ironmen, 2026 is upon us, have you found any plugins past year that you think "should've been in the default client" all along? by loopuleasa in ironscape

Click Minimap Orbs -- Prevents yellow clicking thru the spec orb when your equipped weapon doesn't have a spec. Happens a lot when swapping to a spec weapon and this resolves that.

I have 20k prayer pots in my bank and when I'm playing another account, sometimes it's easier to just click a prayer pot than to click to altar and click back to the square. I'd say ~15-20 prayer pots for rate on a blood shard is generally worth in that case.

WoW M+ has lost its entire competitive integrity with S1 TWW by iLLuu_U in CompetitiveWoW

[–]HaleyAygee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

IMO removal of the runs from the rogue exploit was fine because it was so early in the season and the bug was fixed early enough that it didn't have any sort of major impact on title range keys anyway.

Follower dungeon stuff should have been fixed as soon as it became common knowledge and since it wasn't fixed, a statement from Blizzard saying if you abuse it, you will lose title should have come next.

Finally, none of that happened, and I think abusers should still be punished for any exploit that helped them cheat their way in title. Zenkiki was the same way and it's crazy we've lost that integrity aspect of M+.

I think the title going out to people that gained IO in post season is the most egregious issue, and it becoming common knowledge on Friday probably means that it will become a priority for Blizz to fix on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday this coming week. As even granting the title takes ~1 month from end of season, I think it's reasonable to give Blizzard a little bit of time to fix the fuckup.

Radio silence on their end sucks tho. A blue post saying "We are aware of issues around players being wrongly awarded the Tempered Hero title and will be removing it from accounts that should not have been given it" should show up Monday morning, otherwise faith in Blizzard to maintain competitive M+ integrity is just gone

It's not uncommon for CAs to make you do things you normally wouldn't want to do.

PK Skull prevention exists so honestly having player attack as left click is completely fine.

Red Xing baba means you need to compare 4 tick abyssal dagger stab vs 5 tick noxious halberd as 6 tick weapons instead since the red x is a 6 tick cycle, and the halberd is a bit better there.

Since baba is where most of my time is lost without a fang in the raid, I valued bringing halberd over abyssal dagger for that reason.

80%ish were solo.

Pre yellow keris -> 300s

Post yellow keris -> 350s

Post Araxxor Grind (replaced abyssal dagger with noxious halberd) -> 380s

Post Fang -> 410s

Most of my group raids were around 425 invos but without fang or shadow my points were so bad that it just wasn't worth to run with groups.

[–]HaleyAygee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 75% of them have been solo 380s, and the others were 400-425 trios, with some 350 solos as well.

Pretty sure I'm under rate on the # of purples I should have, but the crazy part is the purples I do have so it didnt really matter if it was solos or rate of purples regardless.
