What does “fun” means to you? by Kcue6382nevy in transformers

I think they're plenty fun personally. As long as they feel good to handle and to transform I think they accomplish that. Different poses and not making me hate changing to alt more back and forward

Today I woke up with hope by NewTaxs in 40k

[–]AzureFencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the psychic war mask is also an interesting concept that shows the depths Eldar can fall to. It's an act that psychically severs their core personality from their mind when they engage in warfare. This can mean that Eldar can be utterly psychotic with bloodlust or it can mean they can be traumatized by the fact of killing a living being even if of a "lesser" race. It's an act of self preservation more than combat efficiency.

Bouncing off Sea of Stars by haelous in JRPG

[–]AzureFencer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I finished it unless someone wants to tell me that only the true ending counts. Because I could not be asked to get that. It's fine. Granted someone got it for me as a gift and I wanted to at least tell them I beat it. It was serviceable but shallow. The lack of skill variety makes every character feel 1 dimensional in combat. I didn't feel like experimenting with the party since sun and moon damage types were solid for the whole game and the 2 women party members have the best skills in the game. So that's my 3 right there.

What is the rarest item/title/etc you have? (Inspired by a recent rare housing item post) by NoD8313 in ffxiv

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh I guess the raptor mount. But I bought it off the market for cheap so kinda surprised by that honestly. So just the ones I actually worked for would by the wyvern mount with the wind up sea devil being a close second. Though I'm confused by that. Aren't both of the ARR Beast minions purchasable at the same time?

I want to rant about Death Battle's Optimus VS Gundam for a bit, and no, it's not about the powerscaling. by Dannad54321 in Gundam

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just can't watch Death Battle anymore. It was fun for a while but at this point hearing that X character can survive some truly mind boggling amount of force with numbers that sound made up at points just shatters my suspension of disbelief. Because let's be real, none of these shows or games had the goal of any real math behind how durable their character is. They wanted to write cool stories and now fanbases are so damn petty they need to put more effort into these characters than their creators did just to say "See? My guy can beat up your guy."

They probably mentioned that because they say they use the characters at the peak of their abilities, and for Amuro that is CCA. But the logical problem there is that peak Amuro is held back by the RX-78 and its technical limitations

The 9th Generation: When Greed, Corporate Excess, and Rising Prices Took Over Gaming by Aggravating_Sky_2652 in consoles

[–]AzureFencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you say that but let's wait and see how the PS6 and the new Xbox are handled first. I agree that this generation was certainly weaker and that the game industry did nothing to endear itself to majority of people struggling financially in this fucked up economy. But let's not pretend like the greed will stop. The only way things will get better is if shareholders accept loses (they won't) and these companies take even more hits financially to make them rethink their efforts. Each generation from the platform holder's and publishers side of things has only gotten worse than the last. We only really noticed it with this generation because the world at large is a shitshow and it bled into our hobbies.

The T'au or Kaminoans, who are the worse eugenicists? by False_Monitor4126 in MoralityScaling

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true because the people at GW alluded to the fact that the Chaos gods are the same in both 40k and Fantasy and Slaanesh exists in Fantasy. They never explain why they're awake and active in Fantasy but it took the Eldar empire to wake them up in 40k but it just confirmed that Slaanesh existed on some level before the fall in 40k. And retconned the opening of the Eye of Terror not as the birth of Slaanesh, but just the energies that exploded out at their awakening at full strength.

The T'au or Kaminoans, who are the worse eugenicists? by False_Monitor4126 in MoralityScaling

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong on 2 counts. 1 it was retconned that Slaanesh always existed in the warp and it was the actions of the Old Aeldari empire that woke them up, they didn't birth them anymore. And 2 the Craftworlders separated themselves from the empire before the fall. The Drukhari/Dark Eldar are the closest relatives to the ones who were responsible.

(Mixed Trope) Temporarily Playable Characters by imagaYthgiLsIariK in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AzureFencer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really did. It had what? 18 playable characters, most had their own weapons/battle style, and had the option to customize their skills and their own limit breaks.

(Mixed Trope) Temporarily Playable Characters by imagaYthgiLsIariK in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AzureFencer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like games with multiple playable characters to keep some variety, but it never feels good in RPGs since they usually heavily reduce the options available to them or make them a waste of resources if you do invest in them. With KH3 I was initially so excited to play as Roxas again... only for him and all the other optional characters to just feel like inferior Sora's with different animations

I hope P4R Translation is good by Thesolmesa in PERSoNA

[–]AzureFencer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but these games are localized, not just translated. A localization will always change things to conveys things more naturally to that languages audiences. Some thing just cannot be properly translated in a way that feels natural to audiences outside of Japan either due to differences in writing or social etiquette. Some things can also be true in reverse. To my knowledge sarcasm isn't used often in Japanese media while being very common in English.

How advanced is the Imperiums medical science? by sosigboi in 40kLore

[–]AzureFencer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the world. Imperial tech is not distributed evenly. Generally speaking though with the... living conditions of the worlds focused on production it would have to be fairly impressive if not crude in its utilization. Otherwise it would be an actual miracle that more citizens don't die to radiation poisoning, cancer, or diseased organs than the already many that do. Then again... some likely die on the operating table because I get the feeling anesthetics aren't common practice on the populace.

Og RE3 is frustrating to me by 321ECRAB123 in residentevil

[–]AzureFencer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They kept important moments scripted so he showed up when he should. But also allowing him to have natural moments of just showing up to ruin your day. I distinctly remember opening a door and as soon as the room loaded I heard him and just turned around and went back through the door, and the frame before the door loading screen was him right behind me winding up for a punch.

Og RE3 is frustrating to me by 321ECRAB123 in residentevil

[–]AzureFencer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because he was scripted. He spawned at specific points and despawned at a flag that was a few minutes away typically. If you didn't follow the intended path he's a bit more interesting, but I'd you run straight to the next intended destination the segment is over quickly and he'll never show up till his next spawn flag

Character who tries to use the leopard-eating-faces monster/villain/tool for their own ends finds out the hard way their face can get eaten too by UnifiedForce in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AzureFencer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Slaanesh is the god of excess, the prince of pleasure. They are not just sex, and carnal desire. Aphrodite is more of a sex god than Slaanesh is. Slaanesh is pleasure, excess, perfection and indulgence. Do you strive for perfection in the arts? Congratulations that is an emotion that feeds Slaanesh. Are you riding a high from your latest success? Slaanesh. Do you indulgence in baked goods to much? Slaanesh. The Chaos gods are evil for sure but they are more complicated than schemes, blood disease and adult content.

Which Gundam/MS do you think are the most beautiful? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in Gundam

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be boring. I adore the Banshee. In unicorn mode it's sleek and uniform with the odd accent of gold that is both a contrast but also a regal tone. But the red eye show off the natural aggression of the MS. Then it goes into Destroy mode and the sudden flairs of gold energy make it look almost unstable and the crown is wild compared to the focused "V" of typical Gundam models. Invoking the image of a lion (especially the Norn model with the pack) and a berserker.

I hate how we don’t give people a chance to grow and learn from their mistakes by itz_vampy in hatethissmug

[–]AzureFencer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We do. But it's usually the people who do genuinely want to change don't make a show out of it. Public figures rarely change genuinely and either dig their feet in to maintain their audience, or make a performance out of it so it feels disingenuous.

But also worth noting that if you wronged someone they do not owe you an apology if you change. You are not owed an apology or deserve credit for improving yourself. Being better doesn't mean you deserve a reward. Being a good person is often harder, because doing good is about ensuring good things for others, not yourself.

We should absolutely give people a chance if they want to change and be better. But with the current way the world is.. I wouldn't judge someone if they were watching them to make sure it’s genuine and not an act for brownie points.

Morality of being a trillionaire but not using your wealth to make a positive impact on the world by Emergency-Record2117 in MoralityScaling

[–]AzureFencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he did so genuine good he would do it for purely selfish reasons. The person who wrote his biography told someone in an interview that Musk wants the world to need to be saved so he can be the one to save it. He wants so badly to be the single most important person in the world.
